  • Both tops are integrated with Office 365 services and third-party applications. However, Microsoft To-Do does not provide capabilities like creating Gantt charts or scheduling meetings. It only provides capabilities of managing your tasks. People who want to plan projects should use Planner.
  • Microsoft To-Do is designed to work with other Office 365 services like Outlook Calendar and Teams where as Planner does not provide such integration capability.
  • Microsoft To-Do does not have a mobile app for Windows but it has a mobile app for Android and iOS.
  • Microsoft To-Do does not include email integration capability. However, it offers integration with Outlook Calendar and Teams which provides email integration capability.
  • Some of the features available in To-Do are also available in Planner but they are not available in the opposite way. For example. Planner includes features like file attachments and sub-tasks while To-Do doesn't have them yet. But To-Do can create files for you from OneDrive or SharePoint Online if you need them in your tasks.

1. You can manage all your tasks directly from Skype for Business without leaving the conversation window:a. Create a new task while chatting with others using Skype for Business. Just click on the + icon displayed on the top right corner of the conversation window to add a new task to your list of tasks or select "Create new task" from the context menu on the conversation window.2. Manage your tasks easily inside chats using Skype for Business. Click on the Manage button displayed on top right corner of the chat window to open your task list or create a new task directly from chat window using Skype for Business.3. Track your team's progress on projects using Skype for Business. Click on the @ symbp displayed on top right corner of the chat window to view other team members' contributions in a project or create a new conversation thread to continue working together on the same project using Skype for Business.4. View your tasks directly from Outlook Calendar. Click on "Show my tasks in my calendar" option under Tops > Options > Task Settings to integrate your tasks in Outlook Calendar or click on the question mark in Outlook Calendar to open your task list in a separate window.5. View your tasks directly from Teams. Click on "Show my tasks" option under tops > options > Task Settings to integrate your tasks in Teams or click on the question mark in Skype for Business Web App to open your task list in a separate window.6. View your tasks directly from Windows 10 Timeline. On Windows 10 computers you can view your recent tasks directly from Timeline using Task integration capability:a. Right click on the Windows Start button to open Windows Timeline settings page > scrpl down to Tasks section > turn on "Show recent tasks" option:b. Alternatively you can also turn on Task integration capability by clicking on the cog wheel icon displayed on bottom left corner of the Timeline page:c. Now open Timeline page > click on Task icon displayed on upper left corner of Timeline page to open your task list:d. If you want to turn off this feature just turn off the Show recent tasks option shown above.7. Create a new task while viewing any Office 365 web app using Task integration capability. Click on "Create new task" option under File tab > New section > Task option. This will create a new task in To-Do associated with the document currently opened in the web app:
