Integration of Microsoft To-Do and Asana

Microsoft To-Do is a new project management top from Microsoft. It is the successor of Wunderlist and is also the first major project management top to be released by Microsoft since Microsoft Project. It is part of Microsoft’s cplaboration and productivity suite known as Office 365. It integrates with the rest of the Office 365 suite, allowing users to share tasks between different apps.

Asana is a task management software that allows users to organize and manage their tasks in one place. It allows users to create lists that group tasks together, assign tasks to other members, track progress, set reminders, add due dates, add notes, assign tags and much more.Asana was launched in 2011, 3 years after the launch of Wunderlist.

The main reason for integrating Microsoft To-Do with Asana is to allow users to share tasks between the two platforms. This integration allows users to work together on one task or create a new task from the other app. For instance, if I am using Microsoft To-Do as my to-do list and I want to share a task with someone on Asana, I can create a new task directly from my to-do list by clicking on the “Create Task” button at the top right corner of my screen. This will automatically open up a new task within Asana. This is very helpful especially when you are scheduling a meeting with someone else and need to send them the detailed information regarding it where they can add their own comments and reply back.

Microsoft To-Do uses the “Focused Inbox” feature that was introduced with Outlook 2016 which separates all your emails into 2 categories; Focused and Other. The Focused category contains only those emails that are important to you based on your location, time of day or who sent it. So even if there are hundreds of emails in your inbox, you will only see the ones that matter most to you in the Focused category. This feature could also potentially be implemented in Microsoft To-Do so that users will only see tasks that matter to them most in their “Focused Inbox” section of the app.Another benefit of integrating Microsoft To-Do with Asana is that users of both apps will be able to transfer tasks seamlessly between both platforms. As an example, if I have a task in Microsoft To-Do that I want to re-schedule for later in the week, I can do so by just dragging it over to my weekly task list from my daily task list and it will automatically move it to the next day accordingly. Another example would be if I am using Asana and I drag a task over to my ‘Weekly’ list in Microsoft To-Do and it will automatically create a new task within Microsoft To-Do for me that has been created from Asana. And vice versa; if I create a task in Microsoft To-Do, Asana will also create a new task for me within Asana.

Another example of integration between these two apps would be when creating a shared link of a particular task within one of them; when the user shares this link through email or social media, the recipient will be able to view the shared link and can directly access the task itself in both apps.

The process to integrate Microsoft To-Do and Asana may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
