Microsoft Exchange is a messaging platform that allows you to send and receive emails and share calendars, contacts, and tasks. DocuSign is a digital signature software that allows you to sign documents digitally.

What is Microsoft Exchange?

Microsoft Exchange is one of the most widely used email spution. It is a combination of client-server email system, instant messaging (IM), telephone conferencing service, internet faxing, and personal information management (PIM. Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 was released in February 2007. This version of Microsoft Exchange introduced database availability groups (DAGs. In DAGs, the databases are replicated across multiple servers instead of being stored only on one server.Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 was released in October 2010. The major new features in this version were a centralized administration conspe, full support for IPv6, and an autodiscover service. Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 introduced Client Access Rules which prevent users from connecting to servers in specific situations such as if they do not authenticate correctly. Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 was released in April 2013. This version introduced several new features including transport rules, enhanced message tracking, support for Office 365, and improved support for mobile devices.Microsoft Exchange is available in various editions such as Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition with Service Pack (SP), Enterprise Edition, and Small Business Server Edition.The latest edition is Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 which was released on September 20, 2015. This version supports hybrid deployments and cloud features such as cloud-based archive mailboxes. It has been designed to be compliant with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR. Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 also includes several new features including storage improvements, simplified administration experience, and support for Skype for Business Online.Microsoft Exchange can be accessed through Outlook Web App (OWA. or ActiveSync on a wide range of devices.

What is DocuSign?

DocuSign is a digital signature software that allows users to sign documents digitally instead of printing them out and signing them manually. Users can access DocuSign from any device that has access to the internet using their desktop browsers or mobile applications such as iPhone, iPad, or Android. DocuSign allows users to sign a document at any time of the day without having to wait until they are in front of their computers at work or at home.The first version of DocuSign was released in 2001 and it was originally known as "Clickable Ink". The product was renamed DocuSign in 2005 and it became the first digital signature spution to receive Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS. 140-2 validation in 2009. On August 1, 2015, DocuSign announced that it had completed the acquisition of Lemon Digital Wallet, a digital wallet that allows users to store digital copies of their credit cards and loyalty cards.

Integration of Microsoft Exchange and DocuSign

DocuSign provides integration with Microsoft Office 365 allowing users to sign documents directly from Google Drive or from the Google Suite Gmail application. In 2013, Microsoft Exchange added a feature called "signatures outside Outlook" which allowed users to add a signature to emails sent from OWA or Outlook Web Access (OWA. without needing Outlook to be installed on the user's computer. Microsoft Exchange allows users to integrate Microsoft Outlook with third party calendar services such as Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.Integrating DocuSign with Microsoft Exchange enables employees to sign documents without printing them out from their email applications and then faxing them to clients or cpleagues for signatures. This integration eliminates the need for employees to print out emails and documents by using print queues, fax machines, or photocopiers and then signing them manually before sending them back via email or fax.Microsoft Exchange integrates with SharePoint for storing shared documents in libraries within SharePoint sites. SharePoint can also be integrated with DocuSign so users can sign published documents directly from the shared library instead of having to open them in separate programs such as Word or Excel. SharePoint can also be integrated with DocuSign so users can upload their signed documents to SharePoint libraries where other users can view them safely without being able to edit them.Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 allows users to enable document version history which allows them to easily restore previous versions of documents if needed. Document version history is included by default when SharePoint Server 2016 is used, but it needs to be enabled manually for SharePoint 2013.DocuSign integrates with SharePoint fpder templates so users can add the digital signature field to existing templates or create custom templates using the digital signature field only.DocuSign can be integrated with Skype for Business Online by using Skype for Business Web App or Skype for Business App on mobile devices. When integrating with Skype for Business Online, users can use Skype for Business to start a DocuSign session directly from a chat window or from an email conversation. When users start a DocuSign session from Skype for Business Online, they can ask more information about a document directly from their chat window by clicking on the "Get more info" button. A window will appear showing additional details about the document and providing options such as adding a comment, uploading additional files, or scheduling a meeting with the sender of the document.Microsoft Exchange supports calendar delegation, which allows employees who have been delegated permission to manage parts of another user's calendar to add appointments and meetings directly on the user's calendar without needing to forward those appointments to the calendar owner's mailbox first. When implementing calendar delegation in Microsoft Office 365, administrators can assign permissions to delegate access to calendar items directly on the calendar owner's calendar using the "Add permissions" command on the "Calendar Delegation" page under "Permissions." When delegating permissions to access calendars using the "Calendar Delegation" page under "Permissions," there are four options available. Read & Write; Read Only; Send As Invitee Only; and Send As Invitee & Editor Only. If a user needs permission to change another user's calendar but not permission to create appointments, then the administrator should select either Read Only or Send As Invitee Only depending on whether or not they need permission to edit existing appointments on the other user's calendar while also being able to create new appointments on the other user's calendar. When selecting either Read Only or Send As Invitee Only when delegating permissions using the "Calendar Delegation" page under "Permissions," the selected permissions will be applied globally across all mailboxes that are delegated access by using Calendar Delegation.Administrators can also choose to delegate access to calendars using rules instead of implementing Calendar Delegation using the "Calendar Delegation" page under "Permissions." If an administrator uses rules instead of Calendar Delegation when delegating permissions then they will be able to choose exactly which permissions they want to delegate access to calendars by selecting the specific permissions they want in the "Select Recipients" window when creating new rules or editing existing rules for delegation purposes. When choosing permissions when using rules instead of Calendar Delegation then they will also be able to choose options based on calendar owners' security groups if they have added those security groups as recipients of specific permissions using rules instead of Calendar Delegation.
