Amazon DynamoDB is the leading NoSQL database, which is used by multiple companies worldwide for their business processes. With the emergence of NoSQL databases, the technpogies used for data storage and retrieval have changed drastically. In the past, it was common to use traditional relational database management systems (RDBMS. such as Oracle, MS SQL Server and MySQL for storing and retrieving data. However, with the advent of Internet and mobile applications, the need for a more scalable technpogy arose. This is when NoSQL databases came into being. The main advantage of using NoSQL databases over RDBMS is the ability to store unstructured data without any schema. Another advantage is that NoSQL databases are much faster than RDBMS in terms of read/write access to data.

Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS. It is reliable, fast and secure. It can be used for storing unstructured data unlike traditional RDBMS which stores structured data only.DynamoDB uses Amazon Web Services (AWS. infrastructure for hosting its database servers. It's hosted in AWS cloud over multiple availability zones for high availability and durability.DynamoDB offers three different database plans – Free Tier , Basic Tier , Standard Tier . The first plan is available at no cost whereas other two plans have to be bought separately based on the amout of usage. The pricing of DynamoDB depends on primarily two factors i.e. storage capacity and throughput . Storage capacity refers to how much data can be stored in DynamoDB database whereas throughput refers to how fast the database can perform read/write operations on the data stored in it. There are four different ways to pay for DynamoDB i.e. pay-as-you-go , reserved capacity , spot instances , reserved instances . Pay-as-you-go refers to paying for what you use whereas reserved capacity refers to paying up front for capacity for a one year period which provides cheaper rates compared to spot instances and reserved instances .
Integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with Amazon DynamoDB enables users to connect their existing data stores (relational or non relational. with their business apps like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central . The integration uses the application programming interface (API. provided by Amazon DynamoDB to transfer data on demand into a local database in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central . Thus, it makes data retrieval faster when accessing data from within Business Central . This integration helps users to write custom code which allows them to query their existing data sources such as relational databases or NoSQL databases like Amazon DynamoDB directly from within Dynamics 365 Business Central .The integration of these software also enables users to migrate their data from one database to another seamlessly without losing any information during the migration process. In addition to this, users can set up notifications so they get notified when there is a change in data in their source database in case they want to keep their local database updated continuously.DynamoDB makes it possible for users to create tables, write queries against existing tables and maintain indexes directly from within Dynamics 365 Business Central . These features allow users to view existing information easily without having to switch between applications thereby saving time and effort. Users can also view metadata information about their tables such as name of table, primary key for each table etc from Business Central administration conspe without having to perform separate database queries. These features help users manage their data effectively as they can perform all tasks related to maintenance of their local database through Administration module within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central .
