It is a fully managed cloud database and supports data items called “items” which can be any arbitrary JSON data type. Each item has unique key like a hash key, range key or a sort key which provides high speed and scalable performance for both reads and writes. It also provides features like Global Secondary Indexes which allows you to create indexes across multiple tables. You can use these indexes to query items from multiple tables with a single query.
