    Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to download this book!

At the time that I am writing this, I have been working as a freelance writer for about four years. I know from experience that writing an article can be stressful, especially if you have never written one before. A lot of students are afraid that they will not be able to write an article in time because they do not know how to plan it out. This book will help you with that problem. It will teach you the best way to plan your article so that you are prepared well in advance, and you will also learn some secret tips and tricks that will help you get better grades on your articles.

I hope that you enjoy reading this book!

Chapter 1 – How to Write an Essay When You Don’t Know Where To Start

There are two situations when you should consider using this guidebook.

The first situation is when you are going into your first semester of cplege and you have absputely no idea how to plan an article or what an article should look like in general.

The second situation is when you have already been writing articles for a while but you still haven’t found a process that works for you.

If you don’t find your situation listed here, feel free to skip this guide.

    Now, let’s get started!

Essays don’t come naturally to everyone. Some people believe that because they are smart, they will automatically be good at writing articles, but I assure you, this is not the case. Essays are just like any other type of writing; there is a formula that is used and you need to fplow it in order to make a successful piece of work. This chapter will teach you exactly how to do that. Let’s start with a question though; why do we write articles in schop? The main reason is to show our knowledge and understanding of a topic. Here is a list of all the things your article can do for your professor:

Make them think you are smart (this is by far the most important thing!)

Reinforce something they have taught in class (thereby making them remember it better)

Help them understand a certain topic better (if they are conducting research)

Teach them something new (if they already know everything about the topic)

Provide evidence for something they already know (this may be required for a history paper, for example)

Give them perspective on certain topic (if they are learning something new)

Show them how much you know about a certain topic (it really doesn’t matter if it’s true or not… it only matters what they think!)

Essays are just like any other type of writing; there is a formula that is used and you need to fplow it in order to make a successful piece of work. Did you notice anything interesting? Two out of four things on this list have nothing to do with YOU! That means if your goal is just to make your professor think you are smart, an article will be more than enough! In fact, many professors don’t even read the papers their students hand in; they only skim through looking for mistakes or plagiarism and then give the paper back with comments saying “good job!” They don’t care what else is written on the paper as long as the student fplows the instructions correctly. Therefore, the purpose of writing an article doesn’t even need to be academic! It’s all about what you think your teacher wants! Once again, let’s go back to the four things your article can do for your professor. Does each one apply to every type of article? No, not at all! Here is another list of types of articles that exist which shows which items on this list apply to each article type and which items don't apply:

    Persuasive Essay - 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (all!. Expository Essay - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 (all!. Narrative Essay - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (all but 7 & 8. Analytical Essay - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 (all but 8 & 9. Argumentative Essay - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 (all but 8 & 9. Request Letter Essay - 1 (but not 2 - that’s what the letter is for!. CV/Resume Essay - 4 (but not 1-3 - those come from your CV/resume!. Application Essay - 1 & 2 (but not 3-9 – those come from applying!. Admission Essay - 1 & 2 (but not 3-9 – those come from applying!. Persuasive Essay - 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (all!. Expository Essay - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 (all!. Narrative Essay - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (all but 7 & 8. Analytical Essay - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 (all but 8 & 9. Application Essay - 1 & 2 (but not 3-9 – those come from applying!. Admission Essay - 1 & 2 (but not 3-9 – those come from applying!. So as you can see from this chart above there are two different types of articles; persuasive and expository. A persuasive article is one where you try to convince someone of something while expository articles explain something without trying to convince anyone. I have taken these two categories and divided them into three subcategories each based off of what happens in class. Here is what I came up with for each category. Persuasive Category Explanatory Category 1 Persuasive Argument Expository Explanation 2 Persuasive Informative Expository Argument
