  • In this section, I will discuss about Habitica and how it can be integrated with Smartsheet. First of all, I will define the concepts of Habitica and Smartsheet for readers who do not know what these programs are. In addition, I will explain the benefits of integrating the two programs.

    Habitica is a habit-building top that allows users to have greater contrp over their habits. It is an online program that promotes self-improvement through gamification. Habits are presented as quests, which are tasks that users need to complete in order to obtain experience points. When users complete quests, they gain experience points, which can be used to buy rewards or upgrade their avatar’s equipment. As user’s progress, they unlock new quests. The success rate of achieving a quest is based on the percentage value assigned to the quest. Users can also form teams to work together on quests.

    Smartsheet is a cloud-based spreadsheet top that allows its users to cplaborate on spreadsheets. Numerous people can edit spreadsheets at the same time. This makes Smartsheet useful for managing projects and tasks. Its features allow users to share spreadsheets with other people, create project schedules, take notes, and send reminders to help keep track of tasks. Furthermore, it allows its users to share information with others without worrying about losing access to spreadsheets because they are stored in the cloud.

  • In this section, I will discuss about Smartsheet and how it can be integrated with Habitica. First of all, I will provide an example of how Habitica can be integrated with Smartsheet using real-life examples. In addition, I will explain how Smartsheet can be integrated with Habitica based on my own experience using the two programs together. Finally, I will give recommendations for future research on this topic.

    I use Habitica to manage my daily habits. For example, Habitica helped me to improve my writing habits by including writing tasks in my daily schedule. Similarly, I use Smartsheet to keep track of my daily schedule and organize my homework assignments by difficulty level and date due date. If I only used Smartsheet to manage my daily schedule, then it would be difficult for me to plan my homework assignments because I would not know how much time I spend on each assignment each day. Therefore, I thought that integrating Habitica and Smartsheet would be useful for managing my daily schedule and organizing my homework assignments. To integrate the two programs, I created a template in Smartsheet for managing my daily schedule and homework assignments; then, I created a Habitica task list based on the template. Now, every time I finish a task or make progress on a task in Habitica, I can update the Smartsheet task list with the information from Habitica. In addition, if my progress on a task has been delayed or I have decided to change a task from one assignment to another, then I only have to update only the Smartsheet task list rather than changing many different tasks in Habitica. Also, since Habitica is a web application, then it is convenient for me to check my progress on tasks from any computer or mobile device. In conclusion, integrating Habitica and Smartsheet has made managing my daily schedule and organizing my homework assignments easier because now I can find out what tasks I have completed and what tasks I have left to complete from one place rather than from multiple places.

For example, if a person wants to find out how much time she spends on her homework each day, then she can create an outline such as the fplowing:

    When the person inputs her daily schedule into Smartsheet using the template provided in Smartsheet, then she can create a simple task list containing only her homework assignments in Habitica based on the template in Smartsheet. Since she knows when she finishes each assignment in Habitica when she updates her daily schedule in Smartsheet using the template in Smartsheet, then she knows when her homework assignments are due in class in class without searching for her class syllabus online or asking her teacher when an assignment is due or even forgetting about when her homework assignments are due. Also, if she has finished an assignment early or changed an assignment from one assignment to another because she realizes that she does not have enough time to complete the original assignment before it is due, then she can just update her task list in Habitica based on her daily schedule in Smartsheet using the template provided in Smartsheet instead of changing numerous tasks in Habitica. After all, updating her task list in Habitica based on the template provided in Smartsheet is much easier than changing numerous tasks in Habitica because she does not have to look up the original assignments each time she completes one assignment so that she knows what task should be removed from her task list or change to another task because she already knows when she finished an assignment based on her daily schedule provided in Smartsheet using the template provided in Smartsheet.
