  • Cloud Firestore is a new NoSQL document database for Firebase developed by Google. It is the newest version of Firebase’s Realtime Database and it allows better offline support and tighter integration with other Firebase products like Cloud Functions and Cloud Storage. It was released in April 2018 and has an intuitive interface and several unique features for mobile development such as offline mode and real-time data synchronization across multiple platforms.

  • Adding Gravity Forms to your WordPress site is simple. After installing it you will get a new menu item under the plugins page called “Gravity Forms”. On the left side of the page you will see a list of fields that you can add to your form. Once you add a field, you will be able to customize the field name, add a description, and set some other options that will give you full contrp over how the form will be displayed to the user on their screen.

    Now we need to add a cloud firestore connection to our form. Since gravity forms is a WordPress plugin, we need to add the firestore connection on our WordPress site. This can be done through the WordPress dashboard under the “add new” option in the “cloud firestore” section. Fill in the form fields with your project name and then you will see a key generated for your project. Copy this key and paste it into the “app_key” field in your gravity forms settings area. Save the changes and now we have a connection between our gravity forms form and our cloud firestore database.

    In our gravity forms form, you will see a new section titled “cloud firestore” which allows us to add fields from our database to our form. In our example below, we have added a text input field for a username along with a checkbox field that is used to select one or more items from a list in our database. Now when a user fills out our form online, these fields will be saved to our database in real time! This is a simple example of what you can do with gravity forms and cloud firestore integration!
