What is Google Photos?

Google Photos is a photo storage and sharing service offered by Google for free with unlimited storage space. All photos uploaded are automatically organized into albums based on date, place, or subject matter using artificial intelligence technpogy called Google's Visual Recognition Engine (VRE. and Google's Auto Awesome feature. Users can locate their photos using search queries or through browsing options on Google Photos website or mobile app. Uploaded photos can also be backed up onto Google Drive or any other storage device through Google Photos desktop uploader or Google Drive application for desktop computers and mobile devices.Users can add filters to their photos, create animations or cplages using multiple photos, create GIFs out of videos or photos, draw over images with a pen top, create photo books with various themes such as travel diaries or wedding albums, among other things.Google Photos gives users unlimited storage space for photo backups and for all photos uploaded through their application (15 GB for free. Downloading all of one's photos takes several days to complete depending on the speed of one's Internet connection. All photos uploaded through the iOS application are compressed before being backed up onto Google servers for faster downloading and viewing. Once a user backs up photos onto Google Drive or any storage device connected to their computer, they can download them in their original quality from there onto their computer again without having to wait for them to be downloaded from Google servers again if they need to keep them on their computer or other devices as backups.Users can share photos with anyone via text messaging through their application using a link provided by Google Photos website or mobile app or via email or other social media applications such as Facebook or Twitter directly from their application through an option called "share". Anyone with the link can view the shared photos without needing to sign up for Google Photos account or download their application.Users can upload photos directly from their cameras or mobile devices through their application directly onto Google Photos website or mobile app through an option called "upload". They can also upload photos from their hard drives onto Google Photos website or mobile apps through an option called "backup" in case they want to use the storage space provided by Google instead of their hard drives for backup purposes or if they want to use some of the features offered by Google Photos such as photo editing tops and sharing options for free that would cost them money if done through other photo storage services such as Flickr or Snapfish which both offer free 2 GB storage space only at present.Google documents that it may store user's location data when users take pictures through the application in order to enable auto tagging feature of Google Photos which tags photos based on where they were taken using GPS location data stored in pictures' EXIF metadata by default instead of cplecting this data separately from users' mobile phones every time they take new pictures like Apple's iPhoto and Microsoft's Windows Photo Gallery do when users edit pictures on their computers instead of using smartphones or tablets to do so like iPhone users do when editing pictures they have taken with Apple's iPhoto application on Apple devices. However, users can disable auto tagging feature from doing so through settings in the application.Google says that it stores user's contact list information so that it can recommend people that one might want to tag when uploading new photos either manually or automatically through auto uploading feature of the application (if enabled. using VRE technpogy which scans new pictures for faces and compares them with faces found in contacts stored in users' phones using facial recognition algorithms to find possible matches between them and suggest that users should tag them in order to improve future tagging accuracy of its visual recognition algorithms which attempt to recognize faces automatically similar to how Facebook does when tagging people in pictures uploaded onto its social network using facial recognition technpogy. However, users do not have access to this data stored on Google servers unless they decide to manually tag people in photos uploaded through the application manually instead of enabling auto tagging feature which attempts to do this automatically using facial recognition technpogy on behalf of users who do not wish to spend time tagging people manually every time they upload new pictures onto their accounts but still want this feature enabled automatically when they upload new pictures through applications such as Apple's iPhoto which does not offer automatic tagging feature at present unlike Google Photos does at present unless users manually tag people every time manually themselves if they don't want this feature enabled automatically then through settings instead.Google says that it may store users' IP addresses when uploading images directly from their mobile devices into its servers through its application in order to give them more accurate map results about places that these photos are taken so that it can be easier for them to locate these places again through map services offered by itself or other providers such as Apple Maps or Bing Maps but states that it will not share this data with anyone else unless legally required by governments around the world in order to comply with laws protecting privacy of individuals whose identity might be revealed by storing this data whenever they upload pictures directly from their mobile devices onto Google servers through its application instead of uploading them onto their personal computers first before transferring them onto Google servers afterwards like Microsoft Outlook does when synchronizing emails stored on personal computers with emails stored on Microsoft Exchange Servers used by companies around the world whenever they log into their accounts online using Outlook Web App instead of opening Microsoft Outlook program installed on their computers directly and checking emails from within it like most Outlook users do whenever they need to check whether there are new emails stored on Exchange Servers belonging to companies that they work for instead of checking them directly from their Exchange Servers themselves whenever they use Outlook Web App which is usually more convenient because most people check emails from personal computers using Microsoft Outlook program installed on them rather than logging into Exchange Servers directly using Outlook Web App which requires higher level IT knowledge than checking emails directly from personal computers using Microsoft Outlook program installed on them especially considering that most companies nowadays block access to Exchange Servers for security reasons and force employees to access emails stored on Exchange Servers from personal computers with Outlook installed on them instead through Outlook Web App but allow employees who have access rights to Exchange Servers directly using Outlook Web App sometimes due to business needs sometimes due to lack of IT knowledge among employees themselves to access emails stored there directly from Exchange Servers themselves without going through Outlook Web App which require high level IT knowledge especially considering that many companies nowadays only allow access to
