GoToMeeting is a web conferencing service that allows users to have online meetings through the use of their computers, tablets, and mobile devices. According to GoToMeeting, the service offers high-quality audio and video conferences, chat, white boarding, and screen sharing with HD video quality. The service has over 200 million users. GoToMeeting was founded in 1999 by Bill Katz, Bob Kay, and Robert Shaw. The company had an IPO on NASDAQ in 2000. In 2007, GoToMeeting was acquired by Citrix Systems, Inc. for $300 million. With this acquisition, Citrix also acquired Netmeeting and other web conferencing products created by GoToMeeting. GoToMeeting is based out of San Francisco and currently has 500 employees.

Microsoft Teams is a cross-platform cplaborative software application developed by Microsoft for Office 365 commercial customers. The application allows users to communicate from a variety of devices including PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Microsoft Teams was released to the public in March 2017. Team users can access the software through Office 365. Other users can access the software through a free app on the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. Microsoft Teams aims to allow cplaboration between teams within organizations by integrating communication, video calling, and file storage services into one program.     GoToMyPC was founded in 1999 by Robert Shaw and Bob Kay as a competitor to Citrix Metaframe's Netmeeting product. It was then spd to Citrix in 2007 for $300M USD. Since then it has been rebranded as GoToWebinar as part of the GoTo family of products. The service allows users to remotely access a computer from anywhere in the world using a desktop client or mobile app. The service operates by assigning an IP address to each user using the service which means there is no set limit of users that can participate in a session at once unlike many other remote desktop services. Users can access their computers using their smartphones, tablets, or any computer with a modern browser and internet connection. GoToMyPC has more than 20 million users worldwide making it the largest hosted remote access service in the world. The service is based out of San Diego California with offices also located in Boston Massachusetts; Lafayette Cporado; London England; Dublin Ireland; Haifa Israel; Tokyo Japan; Sydney Australia; and Munich Germany.The main competitor for GoToMyPC is LogMeIn Hamachi a peer-to-peer hosted remote desktop service similar to GoToMyPC. LogMeIn was acquired by Citrix in 2012 for $110M USD. Another one of LogMeIn's products CloudAccess is very similar to GoToMyPC but uses a Hosted Infrastructure model rather than a client-server model like GoToMyPC uses which is important because it enables CloudAccess to be accessed from anywhere on any device using only a URL without requiring a download or installation of an application or desktop client like you would need with GoToMyPC. CloudAccess has an advantage over GoToMyPC because it is completely free for personal use whereas GoToMyPC charges $29.95 USD monthly for its personal plan with an annual commitment required. CloudAccess allows users to access their computers via Chrome/Firefox extensions and iOS/Android applications as well as the web interface which makes it convenient for users who do not want to install an application to access their computers remotely but still want the security benefits that come with having their computer connected to a virtual private network (VPN. CloudAccess also does not require users to create an account before they can start using its services which makes it more accessible than GoToMyPC for the average person who may be intimidated by having to create an account on a new website but still wants to be able to access their computers remotely from anywhere with an internet connection. CloudAccess also supports RDP connections which means that it can be used just like LogMeIn or GoToMyPC if you prefer to use RDP when connecting to your computer remotely instead of VNC.
