In this modern age, there are many online services that allow us to communicate with one another through a computer. These online services range in many different forms, from SMS (text messaging. to Facebook. These services make it possible for us to connect with people all over the world and even help us stay in touch with friends and family who live in the same city. However, these online services can also be a great way to stay in touch with others who live far away, such as family members or cplege friends living in different states. Google Groups is not only an email service, but is also a forum-based service where a user can set up a group, which contains many discussion topics. It allows users to create an email list, or a group of email addresses, which is called a “subscriber”. A subscriber does not have to be a member of the group. There is no limit on how many members may subscribe to your groups. Furthermore, there is no limit on how many subscribers you may have for your Google Group. To sign up for an account, you must be at least 13 years pd and have a valid Gmail address. You can sign up for both Gmail and Google Groups at the same time by clicking on the “Sign Up” link at the top right of Gmail. Once you have signed up for Gmail and Google Groups, you may log into your account and start creating new groups.
Google Groups provides a forum-based service. This means that you can create discussions about any topic you want and post messages related to that topic. Each group has its own posts, which are organized in order by date and time. The easiest way to access posts in a certain group is to use “Search” box located on the left side of the page. You may also choose to view the posts by choosing “Show all posts”. It is possible to customize your view of the posts by selecting a specific time frame and/or showing only unread posts.
If a visitor wishes to join a group they must first request membership from the moderator of the group. When a member requests membership, the moderator receives an email notification and has the option of accepting or rejecting the request. If the request is accepted, the new member will receive an email notification saying that they have been accepted as a member of the group and will have access to all of the existing posts in the group and will be able to post their own messages. If the request is rejected, then the new member will not be able to view any of the existing posts and will not be able to post any messages until they are accepted by the moderator as a member of the group (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=548e7cbb5d8b9f2c&hl=en&pli=1.
Having Google Groups built in to your Gmail account is very convenient and efficient because it allows you to send messages to more than one person at once. However, it would be much more convenient if Xzazu could automatically import all of your contacts who are signed up for Google Groups into Xzazu’s contact list so that you could communicate with them through Xzazu without having to type out their email address manually every time and without having to go through Google Groups every time you want to send them a message about something you discussed on group chat on Xzazu. This feature would greatly increase efficiency because you would not have to worry about typing out someone’s email address every time you need to send them a message about something important that was discussed in group chat on Xzazu. Not only would this make communication easier, but it would also make it much more efficient because it would prevent constant back-and-forth messages between members of your groups about things that were discussed in group chat on Xzazu because they would already know what you were talking about since you just sent them an alert that you were going to discuss something important in the next group chat session on Xzazu. This feature would save time because it would eliminate unnecessary back-and-forth messages between members of your groups about things that they already know about because other members notified them about it using Xzazu’s alert system (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=6a3caa08813be826&hl=en&pli=1.
Google Groups works very well as an online service because it allows people from all over the world to connect with each other. It also is very efficient because it allows users to create groups so that they can keep track of all of their friends without cluttering their inboxes with separate emails from each individual friend. However, I think that Google Groups should be integrated into Xzazu so that it becomes even more efficient and easier for users to communicate with each other when using Google Groups as a forum-based service. I think that this integration will make users more productive by eliminating unnecessary back-and-forth messages between members of your groups about things that they already know about because other members notified them about it using Xzazu’s alert system (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=6a3caa08813be826&hl=en&pli=1.
