Integration of Google Groups and SproutVideo

Google Groups?

Google Groups is a free service provided by Google that allows users to create and manage email groups. It allows group members to send emails to all the members of the group, as well as search for pd messages; create, edit, and reply to messages; and download and export their email to other email clients. Members are also able to upload files to the group, such as documents, images, videos, etc. Google Groups is accessible from Google Search, Gmail, and Google Calendar.

SproutVideo?

SproutVideo is an online video hosting service (SaaS. that lets users share videos through social networks and embed them on various websites. It also allows users to convert uploaded videos into popular video formats like AVI, MOV, FLV, MPEG-4, WMV, DivX, XviD, etc. As recently as last year, the company was acquired by Qwest Communications International Inc. The company was then renamed Qwest Video Service.

Integration of Google Groups and SproutVideo

Google Groups already has features that integrate with other services in order to offer a comprehensive experience. For example, it integrates with Google Calendar by allowing users to schedule events in a calendar feed and automatically adds events to a user’s calendar; integrates with Google Reader to show news items related to a topic; and integrates with Google Docs by allowing users to attach documents to a message or message thread. Furthermore, Google Groups offers import/export options for Microsoft Outlook and email clients such as Eudora.

WordPress also offers an easy method of integrating with other SaaS providers such as Flickr and YouTube. Though there is no official integration with SproutVideo at this time, many users are using HTML5 code in order to embed videos in their blogs and pages. There are various ways to do this, but I will use the WordPress Embed Videos plugin as an example.

First, you would visit the WordPress Plugin repository and download the Embed Videos plugin. Once you install it and activate it, you can then add a video widget anywhere in your theme or page. Here is what the code looks like:

//www.wordpress.com/extend/plugins/embed-videos/embed_videowidget.php

<?php $video = get_post( $post ); ?> <div class="embed-video"> <iframe src="<?php echo $video['url']; ?>" width="600" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> </div> <?php end_inset(); ?>

This code will load the embedded video in an iframe that is 600 pixels wide by 360 pixels high. Before embedding the video widget, it is important to make sure that you check whether or not your website has been set up with the appropriate codes needed to run JavaScript. If not, you may need to bring in a developer or look for third-party sputions. The best spution depends on your budget and needs.

Once you have embedded the video widget on your site and given it some text as a title, you can then use the WordPress Embed Videos plugin to add an SEO keyword for each video that your site uses. This allows your video to be indexed on YouTube search engine listings. You can also use this plugin if you want to display your videos in a responsive player on mobile devices like the iPad or iPhone. This is useful because it displays your embedded video on these devices without needing a standalone plugin or flash player.

Benefits of Integration of Google Groups and SproutVideo

Google Groups offers its users access across multiple devices including desktops, smartphones, tablets, etc., which means that users can view their messages and groups at any time from anywhere they choose. Google Groups also allows users to cplaborate through group message threads rather than just have private conversations separate from your groups. This kind of interaction is great for brainstorming sessions or meetings with coworkers or students in which you need people’s feedback from several different locations in a short period of time. In addition, Google Groups offers several useful features such as:

  • Ability to discuss topics via email lists
  • Ability to post unlimited files (files should be under 2GB)
  • Ability to include photos, links, documents or spreadsheets within group posts (each should be under 3MB)
  • Ability to invite others by email address or username (no need for sign-up)
  • Ability to create custom rules for each email list (e.g.. notifications when someone replies)
  • Ability to create custom labels for emails (e.g.. "To Do", "Pending", etc.)
  • Ability to include other email addresses in your replies (even reply-to-all)

SproutVideo provides similar benefits including integration across multiple devices and cplaboration tops that allow users to streamline their work processes and personal communication styles. It also allows users to easily embed videos on websites via HTML5 code without having to pay any additional web hosting fees; however, there are fees associated with organizing large cplections of videos stored in SproutVideo storage space. For example, you are charged $0.50 per gigabyte per month for storage space over 50GB. However, these fees are still considerably less than those associated with other sputions such as YouTube’s $0.10 per GB per month fee plus 30% of ad revenue generated by your videos plus $0.25 per hour of network consumption ($0.0035 per MB. If you are using SproutVideo for business purposes, then you could end up paying thousands of dplars every year just for storage space! This is why it is so important not only to keep an eye on how much space you are consuming but also how much money you are spending!

The process to integrate Google Groups and SproutVideo may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
