Google Groups is a service that allows users to create, organize and moderate email lists. The service is also used to store all of the emails on the group in an archive which can be accessed by members. This service is available for free for those who have an account with google.com or gmail.com.

Cloud Firestore is a cloud-hosted, NoSQL document database for mobile and web apps. It’s built on top of Firebase, but with support for offline mode, higher order data types, and richer queries. It also supports real-time updates with continuous queries.In this article I will be comparing Google Groups with Cloud Firestore in terms of integration and benefits.

Integration of Google Groups and Cloud Firestore

Integration of Google Groups and Cloud Firestore is very easy to set up and use. First you would need to go to the firebase conspe to set up your project. After that you would select the firestore from the left navigation bar. When you click on that, you will see a button that says “add database”, press it and then select the project on which you want to add the database. After that you will be directed to a page where you will have to specify the name of the database, the location, and the rules for the security of the database. After specifying all of those things, you can select create database and then you are done! After creating the database, go to the developer conspe of your project and select storage from the left navigation bar. Then click on the firestore icon there and select open in browser, after that you can access your database through the browser.After creating the database, you can create different cplections through the conspe or through your javascript code. If you create cplections through the conspe, it will create a cplection for each field that you specify. If you create them through js code, they will be created inside of the default cplection of your database. After creating cplections through both methods, you can add and modify documents in them using any language supported by firebase such as java, python, node.js etc. You can also add query rules to your cplections so that only certain users can read or write to them. For example if you try to add a document to a cplection without specifying any read rules for it and then try to read it from an app created by someone else, it won’t show up in your database. The same thing goes for write rules as well.After creating different cplections you can connect them with one another using references. References are a way of connecting different cplections so that they behave like a single cplection. For example if you tie two cplections together with a reference then when you add an element to one cplection it will automatically be added to the other cplection as well and vice versa. This way you can easily share data between different cplections without having to send all of the data over wire at once.
