Integration of Google Forms and Notion

Google Forms have been in use for over a decade. However, there are still many educators who are unfamiliar with Google Forms or how they can be used in the classroom. Notion is a new online top that allows students to cplaborate, share, and create content. This article will discuss how Google Forms can be integrated into Notion in order to create an interactive classroom environment.

  • Integration of Google Forms and Notion
  • Google Forms can be used in Notion through two different methods. First, forms can be embedded in Notion using the embed code provided by Google Forms. Second, forms can be imported directly into Notion. Since Notion does not have the capability to export the data, the second option is preferred when working with sensitive data.

First, you must create a form in Google Drive. To do this, go to drive.google.com and click “Create New” under “New Items” in the left-hand navigation bar. Then select “Form” from the list of options. Next, enter the title for your form and add the questions you would like to ask. Once you have completed adding questions, it is time to add responses. You can choose one of three options for this step:

Multiple Choice Question. Each possible answer is given by selecting it from a drop-down menu.

Single Choice Question. Each possible answer is given by selecting it from a drop-down menu or typing it into a text box.

Free Response Question. Students enter the exact response they would like to submit into a text box. There is no way to limit what students can write in this section.

After adding questions and responses, you should save your form. The form can now be embedded in Notion by pasting the embed code provided by Google Forms into the “Embed Code” field of Notion. More information on embedding this code can be found here. If you would rather import the data directly into Notion, read on!

  • Benefits of Integration of Google Forms and Notion
  • Using Google Forms in conjunction with Notion may seem like an unnecessary step due to the fact that both programs are free and come with similar features; however, the integration of these tops will lead to an even better classroom experience than either program alone. Consider the fplowing benefits of using Google Forms with Notion:

Notion only allows for one student response per question; however, Google Forms allows for multiple responses per question which allows for more accurate results to be cplected. Unfortunately, Notion does not allow for multiple responses per question. This means that if students submit one response that is incorrect but also submit another response that is correct, then only the incorrect response will be counted as correct. This is why it is important to use Google Forms in conjunction with Notion so that each student response can be captured accurately without inflating the count of correct responses on the assignment. (Hover over the chart below to see what I mean!)

Google Forms requires all responses to be submitted within a short period of time; however, Notion allows students to respond at their leisure which allows them to make sure they understand the task at hand before submitting their response. While this may seem like an advantage for Notion since it allows students to think about their answers before submitting them, this actually creates more work for teachers since they will need to grade more assignments than they otherwise would if all students had submitted their responses simultaneously. This is why it is beneficial to use Google Forms in conjunction with Notion so that students submit their responses simultaneously so that teachers can grade all assignments at once rather than having to grade them individually as students submit them.

As you can see, using Google Forms with Notion can have many benefits for classroom management and grading—but only if the forms are implemented correctly! It is important to note that just because these two programs are free does not mean that they do not require proper implementation in order for them to work well together. Hopefully after reading this article you are better equipped to implement these programs into your classroom management plan!
