The most popular one is Companionlink, which costs around $40 a year and has many limitations. There are also some other free apps, but they are either not actively developed or have other limitations. There is no perfect spution yet. But now, with Todoist, we can integrate our Google Contacts with Todoist! This will make our lives easier.
The main idea behind the integration of Google Contacts and Todoist is to synchronize your contacts automatically between the two services. With Companionlink or any other app you need to manually export and import your contacts. This is not very comfortable if you have more than 1000s of contacts. The integration between Google Contacts and Todoist is fully automatic. The synchronization works via an IFTTT recipe. You need to do nothing else to make it work! To make this integration even more useful, you can set reminders in Google Calendar based on your tasks in Todoist. If you create a task in Todoist, you can set it as an event in Google Calendar. When you get this event in your calendar, it will remind you about the task. It’s awesome! The synchronization of your tasks will not only be reminded by your calendar events. If your device supports notifications, you will receive a push notification on your device about your tasks. It’s very useful while working offline or when your device is not connected to the internet. You can also add links to your tasks in Todoist so you can view any web page or a website directly inside the ToDoist app. Your Google Contacts are already synchronized with any devices where you have installed Google Contacts syncing app. So you don’t need to install anything else to make this workflow work. If you want, you can also use the built-in Reminders feature in Todoist for reminding yourself about something really important. For example, if you have a task “Buy milk”, and you also have a contact named “Milk”, you can set a reminder “Buy Milk” and it will remind you using exactly the same sentence as the task name. It will always remind you about “Buy Milk” task until you complete it.
