Integration of Google Contacts and Downtime Alert

Google Contacts is a service provided by Google that allows its users to store, share and organize information about their contacts. It is available via Google Drive, Gmail or Android devices. Google Contacts is a web-based application and provides an alternative to the desktop-based applications. In addition to storing contact information, Google Contacts also allows its users to store information about the address, phone number, email address, rpe, birthday, note and website (or page. for the contact. Information can be stored in various methods – by typing it manually or by importing from a document. The desktop version of Google Contacts may be accessed by updating the Google Drive application on your computer. Downtime Alert is an extension for Web browsers that sends out alerts whenever there is an interruption in Internet connectivity. Downtime Alert has been developed to monitor the sensors and alert users whenever there is a change in the status of connectivity. Generally, Downtime Alert monitors the sensor on the device and detects whether there are changes in connectivity. If there is a change in connectivity, then Downtime Alert will send out alerts to the users. The goal of Downtime Alert is to provide users with timely alerts so they can take steps to resume connectivity or continue without the Internet connection.

Integration of Google Contacts and Downtime Alert

Downtime Alert was created by Chris Kranky in 2013 to track Internet connectivity and send out alerts when there are changes in the status of connectivity. He created Downtime Alert specifically for his business needs when his Internet connection was interrupted by a storm. He wanted to be notified when his Internet connection was not working so he could take steps to restore it or continue without it. Since setting up Downtime Alert at home, Kranky has had many requests for providing Downtime Alert for other business owners and organizations. However, he only had plans on creating an API until he discovered the Google Contacts API. Kranky discovered the Google Contacts API while searching for ways to integrate it into his own business application. He found what he was looking for after he read an article on Gigaom about how Google would be shutting down Google Reader, an RSS feed aggregator that started in 2005 and won several awards including “Best of Google” and “Best of the Web” awards from PC World magazine and CNet. He wanted a way to alert his users about changes in his services related to Internet connectivity when he found the Google Contacts API on Gigaom’s Website. Since creating Downtime Alert, Kranky has added other features such as Facebook integration, SMS notifications and push notifications through Twilio that allow users to receive updates about changes in Internet connectivity through text messages and push notifications sent to their devices.
