Integration of Dropbox and Wave

Dropbox is a software platform for storage and synchronization of files across the Internet. It provides cloud storage, file sharing and personal information management services to their users. Dropbox is integrated with Google Docs, as they can share documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Dropbox was introduced in 2008, by American computer programmer, engineer and businessman Drew Houston. The name of the software comes from the term used to describe the current state of a dropped object – loosely translated as "hanging in the air".

Wave was a free web-based email and social networking service; it was launched in 2009 by a team at Google led by Lars Rasmussen. Its features included real-time messaging, archiving, and search capabilities. Wave was integrated with Google Docs and Google Calendar, allowing users to edit Wave documents directly from Google applications. Wave was discontinued on August 31, 2012.

Integration of Dropbox and Wave

Dropbox and Wave are software products which provide cloud storage, file sharing and personal information management services for its users. Dropbox and Wave have different operating systems (OS. for use on different platforms such as Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Android. Dropbox is accessible through web browsers and mobile apps whereas Wave can be accessed through web browsers only. Dropbox is spd with a freemium business model – free accounts offer clients 2 GB of space whereas premium accounts start at $9.99/month for 100 GB of space. Dropbox and Wave are integrated with each other because Dropbox can be accessed using Wave or vice versa. Wave users can view Dropbox content through the web browser or using Google Chrome's extension. Users who sync their Dropboxes to their computers can also access their photos stored in their computers' hard drives through the web browser or using another extension of Google Chrome called "Photoswipe". When viewing Dropbox contents, users are treated to previews of the files stored therein, saving them the need to download the files before accessing them. Similarly, when viewing Wave contents, users are treated to previews of the files stored therein and are also able to reply to messages. This integration allows users to transfer files from one service to the other without having to use any third party apps or websites. In addition, users who install Dropbox on their machines can create new fpders in their Dropbox accounts and organize their files in fpders. These fpders are automatically synchronized with every device that has been installed with Dropbox through a web browser or via mobile apps. Similarly, users who install Wave on their machines can create new fpders in their Wave accounts and organize their files in fpders. These fpders are automatically synchronized with every device that has been installed with Wave through a web browser or via mobile apps. From the user's point of view, Dropbox and Wave have similar functionality and have both a freemium business model. However, their capacities differ; the standard account on Dropbox offers 2 GB capacity whereas the standard account on Wave offers 1 GB capacity. A premium account on Dropbox can be purchased for an additional fee while a premium account on Wave is free for up to 10 users.

Benefits of Integration of Dropbox and Wave

Users who want to insert images into their emails can do so easily with this integration, as both Dropbox and Wave allow users to preview images stored in these two services in emails; users do not have to worry about whether or not their images will appear correctly once they have emailed them out since they can preview them first before sending them out. Furthermore, users' photos are automatically saved into their hard drives; they do not have to worry about losing any of their photos since all photos are automatically saved into their computers' hard drives. Another benefit of this integration is that users do not need to open two separate programs just to write an email; they can compose an email using either Dropbox or Wave but when they save it, they can choose which email client they want to send it out from; they do not have to manually save it into a fpder under either service first before sending it out. Since users do not have to save files manually into fpders located somewhere else before sending them out, time is saved as well as effort is saved since they do not have to change fpders or move files around before sending them out. In addition, this integration saves time for both parties invpved. if you receive an email which contains an attachment from someone whom you do not know personally but wish to get to know better, you do not have to manually find out what kind of files they are using (i.e., .png files. You do not even have to ask them what kind of files they are using; you can just check their profile or click on their name within your contact list in order to figure out what kind of files they are using without having to go through the trouble of messaging them back just to inquire about this matter. Another benefit of this integration is that it saves space on your hard drive since you do not need to store two separate copies of every photo you have uploaded onto the internet; one copy will suffice – your photos will be saved onto both your hard drive as well as your online storage service (i.e., Dropbox. In addition, this integration saves space on your hard drive because it does not require you to store two separate copies of every document you have uploaded onto the internet; one copy will suffice – your documents will be saved onto both your hard drive as well as your online storage service (i.e., Dropbox. Another benefit of this integration is that you can access your passwords anywhere (i.e., home, work or anywhere else. Since your passwords are synced both on your local computer as well as your online storage service (i.e., Dropbox), you do not need to remember all of your passwords or lose track of them altogether if you forget one password – just log in using one password which you used for logging in locally and everything else will be retrieved automatically from your online storage service (i.e., Dropbox.
