In this paper we will discuss Dropbox and Toggl integration. Toggl is a time tracking software that allows its user to track his working hours and keep an eye on how much time was spent on a task. Similarly, Dropbox is cloud storage service allowing its user to store his data and access it from any of the devices or even from anywhere. In this article, we will discuss how Dropbox and Toggl can be integrated together.
Dropbox and Toggl integration can be easily done by using Toggl’s Chrome Extension. The extension is available in the Chrome Web Store for free. It will allow you to integrate Toggl with your Dropbox account and keep a track of how much time you are spending on every of the tasks. After installation, the extension will add a new button under your extension bar. The button will have a timer icon; it will show the current time in hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds. To start tracking you just have to click on that button. The extension will automatically generate an activity in Toggl and mark that time as “Unbillable” which means, no one will charge you for that time.
Once you have integrated Toggl with Dropbox and installed extension, the extension will show you all of your Dropbox files in the left-side bar. Now you can select any of those files to start tracking its time. Let’s say we are tracking a file named “Research Paper”. Once you start tracking the file, the timer extension will automatically start keeping track of its time and every few seconds it will update the time. The updates will happen automatically unless if you pause the tracking manually or end the tracking session.
