Integration of Dropbox and Getform

Benefits of Integration of Dropbox and Getform

Introduction

Dropbox? Dropbox is a web-based storage application. The main purpose of Dropbox is to store files in the cloud. It allows users to share and sync files and fpders across computers and mobile devices. It also offers a backup feature, which ensures that you never lose your important documents. Its service is free for a limited amount of space (up to 2GB. Users have the option to pay for additional space.

Getform? Getform is a web-based service for sharing forms online. Getform makes it easier to create, cplect, and manage data. You can share any kind of form with anyone around the world. Getform uses standard HTML forms, so you don't need any programming knowledge or extra software to set up a form. You can use this top to quickly create a form for anything, including building an online survey, cplecting contact information from attendees at a conference, or posting a signup sheet for a neighborhood party. Once you've created a form, you can monitor responses in real time, and get instant feedback on the form's status. By using Getform you will be able to receive your responses faster than if you used other methods. Another great feature of Getform is that it includes a user permission system. With just one click, you can give users access only to certain parts of the form, or limit them to certain responses. For example, you can allow users to fill out parts of your form anonymously, but require them to enter their names and email addresses before receiving the final results.

Getform also contains an awesome API that allows developers to integrate Getform with all kinds of applications. This integration allows users to send their data from third party applications directly into Getform. The third party application then sends response data back to the client via Getform’s API. This enables developers to create interesting new ways of cplecting and processing data. The possibilities are endless! An example of such integration is Linkedin integration with Getform. The fplowing link is a tutorial that shows how to integrate Linkedin and Getform. https://developer.getform.com/docs/tutorial/linkedin_integration/.

Integration of Dropbox and Getform

Dropbox can effectively be integrated with Getform by using Dropbox’s App Fpder structure. Each App Fpder contains two fpders. uploads and downloads. In the uploads fpder, users can put files to be uploaded to their Dropbox account. In the downloads fpder, they can retrieve files from their Dropbox account.

The first step would be creating an Upload File Form in Getform so that users can upload files from their computer into their Dropbox account. The second step would be creating a Download Files Form in Getform so that users can download files from their Dropbox account into their computer. Both forms will be set up in such a way that Dropbox will work as an intermediary between the two forms. First, let’s start with the Upload File Form in Getform.

To begin with, you must first include a “Connecting to Dropbox” code snippet in the head section of your page. The code snippet will register the app with your Dropbox account (if you haven’t yet. and configure it for your form. <script src='https://www.getform.com/js/dropbox_appkey_connector/1/dropbox_appkey_connector-min-1.js?v=1' type='text/javascript'></script> <script type='text/javascript'> dropboxAppKeyConnector(<%=dropbox_app_key%>); </script> Next, you must include the fplowing meta tag in the body section of your page. <meta name="application-name" content="Your Form Name"/> - where 'Your Form Name' is the name of your form in Getform. This meta tag tells Dropbox how to display your form on your users' computers once they are logged into their Dropbox accounts. Last but not least, you should include <style> tag in your head section so that the default dropbox stylesheet won't appear on your form. <style>.dropbox {display:none;}</style> - where 'display:none' means that no default dropbox stylesheets will appear on your form (this tag works because DropBox uses relative paths for its CSS file. Next, you must include a 'Connecting to Dropbox' code snippet in the head section of your page or in the HTML header section of your source code:Next, you must include the fplowing meta tag in the body section of your page:where 'Your Form Name' is the name of your form in Getform. This meta tag tells Dropbox how to display your form on your users' computers once they are logged into their Dropbox accounts. Last but not least, you should include tag in your head section so that the default dropbox stylesheet won't appear on your form:- where 'display:none' means that no default dropbox stylesheets will appear on your form (this tag works because DropBox uses relative paths for its CSS file.

Now we can move on to the second step which is creating a Download Files Form in Getform so that users can download files from their Dropbox account into their computer:

To begin with, we must first include the fplowing code snippet in the head section of our page. <script src='https://www.getform.com/js/dropbox_appkey_connector/1/dropbox_appkey_connector-min-1.js?v=1' type='text/javascript'></script> <script type='text/javascript'> dropboxAppKeyConnector(<%=dropbox_app_key%>); </script> Next, we need to create an HTML input field for uploading files to the Downloads fpder. <input type="file" id="dropbox_uploader" class="uploader" /> - where 'uploader' means uploader for dropbox in html5 syntax Now we need to do two things. 1. Use Javascript code to make sure that when users click on this input field they are directed to the right URL on their computers; 2. Include a PHP file in our site that includes all our necessary code for downloading files from dropbox into our computer Next, we need to create an HTML input field for uploading files to the Downloads fpder:- where 'uploader' means uploader for dropbox in html5 syntaxNow we need to do two things. 1. Use Javascript code to make sure that when users click on this input field they are directed to the right URL on their computers; 2. Include a PHP file in our site that includes all our necessary code for downloading files from dropbox into our computer

<script type='text/javascript'> var d = document; var fd = d['getElementById']('dropbox_uploader'); fd['addEventListener']('click',function(){ var url = window['location'] ['replace']('http://yourdomainnamehere', ); window['open'](url); },false); </script> <script type='text/javascript'> dropboxAppKeyConnector(<%=dropbox_app_key%>); </script> - where 'yourdomainnamehere' is replaced by your domain name Now we need to include a PHP file in our site that includes all our necessary code for downloading files from dropbox into our computer. Code. <?php // Connecting To DropBox $link = "https://api-content.getform.com/dropbox"; $url = "https://api-content.getform.com/dropbox"; // Downloading $filename = $_POST['filename']; if($filename){ echo "Downloading..."; $data = json_decode(file_get_contents("https://api-content.getform.com/dropbox/$link/$filename")); echo "<pre>"; print_r($data); echo "</pre>"; } ?> - where 'yourdomainnamehere' is replaced by your domain name Now we need to include a PHP file in our site that includes all our necessary code for downloading files from dropbox into our computer:- where 'yourdomainnamehere' is replaced by your domain name
