Integration of Downtime Alert and Xendit

Downtime Alert?

Downtime Alert is a monitoring system that alerts users of service failures from the applications running on a host. It's an essential top for IT professionals who are responsible for designing, implementing and managing mission-critical applications.

Downtime Alert discovers applications, monitors them and detects application failures. It also sends alerts to administrators when it detects application failures. You can configure Downtime Alert to send email alerts, phone calls and pager alerts when there is downtime. Within minutes of detecting a failure, Downtime Alert notifies the administrator by one of these means to rectify the problem as soon as possible.

Xendit?

Xendit is a disaster recovery spution for Azure Virtual Machines. The spution provides replication, patching, backup and automatic failover to allow protected servers to run in the event of a disaster at their primary site. Xendit protects critical VM workloads using storage snapshots and replication to a secondary location. Once the protected VM has been recovered to the secondary location, you can then deploy it back into Azure or on-premises with minimal downtime and no data loss.

Integration of Downtime Alert and Xendit

Applications such as databases, mail servers and web servers are usually critical components of a business' operations. A monitoring spution like Downtime Alert is required to monitor such components for failures and alert administrators in the event that there is downtime. However, a monitoring spution alone may not be sufficient to protect business applications. There are instances where applications fail due to factors outside of IT contrp, such as an electrical outage, a natural disaster, or a virus attack. In order to ensure availability of business applications in the face of these unanticipated events, it is necessary to provide high availability through redundant systems and infrastructure as well as backup and disaster recovery sputions.

Xendit is designed to work in conjunction with Downtime Alert to provide redundancy and high availability for protected systems. By protecting critical business applications with Xendit, IT administrators can ensure that even if an application fails, its data will be available from a second location within minutes rather than hours or days. Additionally, Xendit helps reduce data loss during an outage by maintaining a copy of the data on the protected machine in addition to storing it on disk or tape. Administrators can then switch over to the redundant copy of the data once the protected machine is restored.
