Git is a free and open source distributed version contrp system. It's most commonly used for source code management in development environments. It's also used for configuration management of application deployment.
Downtime Alert is integrated with GitHub which means that if your website goes down, it will notify you about it via GitHub's status page. There are two types of notifications when you're on GitHub's status page – red and yellow. Red means there's an error, while yellow means there's a warning about the status of your site. It will show you the issue as well such as “500 Internal Server Error” in the red notification. If your website goes down, Downtime Alert will let you know immediately through this notification.
