WHMCS is a Web Hosting Automation platform that is used by a lot of web hosting companies (like SoftLayer. to offer their services and is also used by a lot of resellers to create their own web hosting company.
Integration of DocuSign and WHMCS allows customers of WHMCS to use the e-signature service of DocuSign. This way, the customer can complete the work flow process without having to switch between different programs or websites. The integration of both systems means that when a customer has to pay for their hosting plan, they can use their credit card directly on the WHMCS website which will trigger an e-mail to be sent to the customer with a link to DocuSign’s website where the customer can sign the document electronically and then the customer can download it and move on with their payment. If there are any other services that the customer wants to add or remove from their account, they can do that as well by signing another document electronically with DocuSign before saving it. Then, after submitting the form, WHMCS will receive the information from DocuSign and add or remove the service automatically on its website.
For example. You have a hosting account with WHMCS; you need to pay for your monthly membership fee but you forgot your credit card details so you need to cancel your card and get a new one. However, you still want to keep your hosting account up and running so you log in to WHMCS website using your login credentials but you cannot find your account because it was deleted when you canceled your card. Now you need to send an email to your reseller asking them to reinstate your account which invpves sending them your billing details and other personal information. With this integration, you can go directly to DocuSign’s website and sign a document saying that you will be paying your hosting bill for a year using your credit card that you already have and then download that document from DocuSign’s website which will trigger an e-mail being sent to your reseller with all the information needed for them to reinstate your account.
This integration makes it easier for customers of WHMCS to pay for their services without having to fill out long forms during checkout because they can just sign a document electronically stating how they want to pay for their account and then send through DocuSign’s website which will automatically trigger an e-mail being sent to their reseller with all the necessary information for them to activate their account. Also, this integration helps WHMCS save time because they can automatically add or remove services according to what customers signed through DocuSign’s website and it reduces the amount of time spent by both customers and resellers contacting each other regarding payments or other issues related to accounts or services.
