Integration of DEAR Inventory and Netlify

DEAR Inventory?

DEAR Inventory is a web-based top that helps you manage inventory of different items. If you are a shop owner, for example, you will find DEAR Inventory useful for managing your inventory. You can either use it as a standalone application or you can integrate it with other services that you use such as Netlify. You can use it to upload photos of your products and write a description about them.

Netlify?

Netlify is an online platform used to create and deploy static websites. The best thing about Netlify is that it supports modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and Vue.js. Furthermore, it lets developers quickly deploy their projects to the web through content delivery networks (CDN. In addition, Netlify enables developers to add features such as authentication and search engine optimization, among others, to their projects.

Integration of DEAR Inventory and Netlify

DEAR Inventory allows users to integrate their store with Netlify. This allows users to easily build and deploy their stores on Netlify. To set up the integration between DEAR Inventory and Netlify, first log in to your DEAR Inventory account. Then go to Settings > Integrations > GitHub. From there, click on the Enable button beside Netlify. You will then see the settings page for the Netlify integration. This page contains four fields for you to fill out. name, email, repository and remote_url. Fill out the fields with the appropriate information. The name field should be filled with your name so that DEAR Inventory will recognize you when you add new products in its store builder interface. The email field should be filled with the email address associated with your GitHub account. The repository field should be filled with the repository URL of your GitHub account. The remote_url field should be filled with the remote URL of your GitHub account. After filling out all the required fields, click on the Save Integration button and wait for the integration process to finish. When it finishes, you will be taken back to the Integrations settings page where you will see a notification that says “Integration Successful". This means that the integration has been set up successfully. Next, go to your DEAR Inventory dashboard and select Store Builder from the navbar menu on the left hand side of the screen. Now, click on the Add Product button at the top right corner of the screen. You will then see a form where you can add the product details. Add a title for your product, a description, a category, and a price (in case you have multiple prices for different products. After adding all these details, scrpl down to the bottom of the form and click on the Save & Publish button. Now, go back to your GitHub profile. On your commits list, you will see a new entry titled “Add product - DEAR Inventory". Clicking on this entry will display a dropdown menu where you can choose whether you want to commit or pull your changes into a branch. Selecting pull will pull these changes into a branch named “DEAR Inventory Branch”. After selecting this option, a new branch containing this change will be created in your GitHub account and your project will be updated upon saving in DEAR Inventory. Please note that it may take some time before this change appears in DEAR Inventory after deploying it on Netlify as this is due to how GitHub works i.e., it makes several requests to fetch all changes made by others into one request for performance reasons. HINT. If you want to speed up this process, try changing the branch name in question from “DEAR Inventory Branch” to something else like “test” or “preview” and then push this branch to GitHub again. This way, all the changes made by other people will be fetched together with yours which will speed up the deployment process by a lot. With this setup, any changes made in DEAR Inventory will automatically be deployed on Netlify without any manual intervention necessary on your part. B. Benefits of Integration of DEAR Inventory and Netlify With this integration in place, DEAR Inventory users can now easily build and deploy their stores on Netlify without having to worry about creating their own custom build process which invpves compiling source code files and uploading them onto servers manually as well as setting up FTP accounts on servers and so on. This not only saves time but also ensures that users don't make mistakes which may cause them to lose data or even suffer security breaches if they leave their FTP accounts open or use weak passwords etc. Furthermore, since Netlify offers free hosting services for open source projects, users are not charged anything for using these services as long as they don't exceed 100 GB storage space per month which is more than enough for most users who only need it for hosting static websites anyway since they don't need any server-side functionality like database management etc. Last but not least, users no longer have to worry about deploying updates since these are automatically deployed on Netlify when they are made available in their GitHub repositories thanks to the integration between DEAR Inventory and Netlify. As we have seen above, integrating DEAR Inventory with Netlify allows users to easily build and deploy their stores on Netlify without having to worry about setting up custom build processes or managing FTP accounts manually etc.
