Integration of DEAR Inventory and LinkedIn

DEAR (Drop Everything And Read. is a schop program that encourages students to read for 20 minutes every day and then report their reading to the teacher. DEAR Inventory is a form that teachers use to keep track of the students’ reading time and progress. On the other hand, LinkedIn is a popular social networking website for professionals. So far, there is no integrative relationship between DEAR Inventory and LinkedIn.

The purpose of this article is to enhance the communication between teachers and students through the help of LinkedIn. First, I will introduce DEAR Inventory, which helps teachers keep track of student’s progress in reading. Then, I will talk about how teachers can integrate DEAR Inventory with LinkedIn. Finally, I will share with you some benefits if they do so.

First, I will talk about DEAR Inventory. It is very helpful for teachers to know whether or not students actually read every day. Many students tend to skip reading days when they are not caught by teachers. Teachers can find out which students are the habitually truant by using DEAR Inventory.

Then, I will talk about how teachers can integrate DEAR Inventory with LinkedIn. This way, students will have more incentive to read everyday. They can even send them directly to the students’ email account to make sure that they have actually read the book before taking an exam for it. Through the help of this integration, parents can now know that their children pay attention in class and try hard to achieve good grades for their schopwork.
