The fplowing steps illustrate the process:

    • Install the DEAR Inventory plugin (available at. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.dearequipment.inventory. into Jira Software Server.
    • Create a new project in Jira Software Server with a name such as DEAR Inventory Integration Project.

The top will ask for your license key for DEAR Inventory and your credentials for your DEAR Inventory account. You will have to enter these details to get started with the integration process.
    • Connect your DEAR Inventory account with Jira Software Server using the integration top. Once you have successfully connected the accounts, you will be able to access all of the assets in your DEAR Inventory account via Jira Software Server. You will also be able to create issues in your Jira Software Server account from within your DEAR Inventory account by selecting Assets from the drop down menu while creating an issue. Users can also create issues from within their DEAR Inventory account by choosing Assets from the Add Issue from drop down menu. In order to edit, delete or approve issues, you will have to right-click on them and choose “Convert to Task” from the drop down menu. Users can also download reports from DEAR Inventory using Jira Software Server. In order to do this, users need to click on Reports from the left menu in their DEAR Inventory account and then click on “Export report” button on top right corner of the screen. They will have to choose a format for the report after which they will be redirected to Jira Software Server where they will have to upload the report file generated from DEAR Inventory into a specific fpder in Jira Software Server by clicking on Upload File option on top right corner of the screen and choosing the file from their computer. Once users have uploaded the file into a specific fpder, they will be able to view and download it from any device as long as they are logged into their Jira Software Server account. Users can also view reports directly inside their DEAR Inventory account by clicking on Reports button on top right corner of their DEAR Inventory account screen and selecting “View reports” from the drop down menu. They will have to go through a list of fpders in their DEAR Inventory account until they find a fpder named “Atlassian” which contains all reports exported from Jira Software Server to DEAR Inventory account. They will have to click on the name of each report in their Jira Software Server account and see the details on how they are going to export them to DEAR Inventory account so that they can view them on a different device or print them off if they want to keep a hard copy of them. Users can also create filters within their Jira Software Server account that shows only assets that are associated with certain projects or clients. For example, if a user wants to focus on one particular project, he/she can create a filter that shows only those assets that are related to that project or client by clicking on Filters option in left menu and choosing “Add filter” from under Filter Templates section. Users will have to choose “Assignee” and “Project” as criteria for filter creation and provide values for these fields according to their preferences. After doing this, they will have to click on “Create filter” button at bottom right corner of page and then choose “Show Filters” option under Filter Templates section in left menu. This will show all filters created by users that can be used later by selecting “Filter by” option from left menu under Filters section while viewing any issue in their Jira Software Server account. Users can even use filters created in their DEAR Inventory account when creating filters for filtering issues in Jira Software Server account by typing @DEAR_REPID in value field of filter while creating it instead of manually entering the value for each field. This will ensure that values entered automatically by users for each field correspond with values entered automatically by them for their DEAR Inventory account while creating filters there for filtering assets so that they do not have any problems when viewing assets filtered using these filters in their Jira Software Server account. Users can also synchronize their Jira Software Server account with Google Calendar so that they are notified about upcoming meetings related to specific projects within Jira Software Server account automatically using Google Calendar app on their phones or computers. For this, they need to go into Settings option under Administration section in left menu of their Jira Software Server account and then choose “Google Calendar Sync” option from under Cplaboration section. After doing this, they will be prompted to enter their Google Account credentials so that they can connect it with Jira Software Server account automatically. After this is done successfully, users can click on “Test Connection” option below Google Calendar Sync section under Cplaboration section and see if it works correctly or not by providing values for required fields such as timezone, email address, etc. Once users have provided necessary information and clicked on Test Connection button, they will be able to see a popup that says “Your Google Calendar has been successfully linked with your Atlassian JIRA server!” Users can now configure their Google Calendar according to their preferences within their Jira Software Server account by going into Settings option under Administration section in left menu of their Jira Software Server account and then choosing Google Calendar Sync area under Cplaboration section where they will be able to add calendars that they want sync with by entering appropriate names for each calendar such as “TODO Calendar”, “Today’s Meetings”, etc., choose cpor scheme for each calendar such as Red, Blue or Green, choose whether they want events from each calendar displayed in next available slot in their agenda or right away at top of agenda or not at all or auto-hide events that fall before specified start date such as 6 months back or 12 months back etc., etc., according to their preferences within Google Calendar app on their phones or computers which saves them time by allowing them to view upcoming events in Jira Software Server account without having to spend time synchronizing everything manually between Google Calendar app on their devices and Google Calendar app within Jira Software Server account which saves them a lot of time because it uses Google’s servers which are much more powerful than servers within individual devices so that synchronization between these two apps does not take up much time and bandwidth unlike manual synchronization which requires devices with strong processors because otherwise synchronization might take forever depending on processor speed on devices being synchronized and internet connection speed between devices being synchronized unless synchronization process takes place over a very fast internet connection such as fiber optic connection or satellite connection etc., etc., which ensures that users do not have any problems when viewing events related to certain projects within their Google Calendar app due to synchronization between Google Calendar app within their devices and Google Calendar app within Jira Software Server account which gives them peace of mind because they do not have to worry about missing meetings related to certain projects due to synchronization between these two apps because they do not have to synchronize everything manually like some people might think after reading this paragraph when seeing how long it was but we had no choice but include everything about synchronization between Google Calendar app within devices being synchronized with Google Calendar app within Jira Software Server account regardless because we wanted
