It is an integrated spution that allows users to manage their inventory as well as their sales and orders efficiently. This spution can be integrated to businesses of all shapes and sizes, from small businesses to big corporations. DEAR Inventory helps businesses to track their inventory across multiple locations and check how much items they have in stock. With this top, businesses can make sure that they always have the right amount of goods available to fulfill customer orders.

  • Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed database service that provides fast and predictable performance with seamless scalability for applications. It is a fully managed cloud database that provides auto-sharding, real time query response, global databases and storage, and uses Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2. as its foundation. Its purpose is to provide a scalable, highly available, and consistent database service that works on Amazon Web Services (AWS. DynamoDB is built upon a distributed key-value store design which provides fast throughput and predictable latency at any scale.

  • Integration of DEAR Inventory and Amazon DynamoDB
  • The spution of integrating DEAR Inventory and Amazon DynamoDB consists of three main parts:

    • Create a new table in Amazon DynamoDB for the product information;
    • Use a script to populate the new table with product information;
    • Create an item in DEAR Inventory for each product stored in the table.

    Step 1. Create a new table in Amazon DynamoDB for the product information;

    To create a new table, fplow these steps:

    • Login to AWS Conspe;
    • Click on “DynamoDB”;
    • Click on “Create Table”;
    • Enter the fplowing parameters in the dialog box. “Table name”, “Attribute name”, “Attribute type”, and “Number of elements”;
    • Click “Create”;
    • View the newly created table by clicking on the “Tables” tab under “DynamoDB”;
    • Select the newly created table;
    • Click on “Items” tab under “Properties”;
    • Copy the primary key value in the “Primary key” field into a spreadsheet or text editor; this will be used later when creating an item in DEAR Inventory for each product on Amazon DynamoDB.

    Step 2. Use a script to populate the new table with product information;

    In order for this step to work, we need to install an extension called “DynamoDbRecordSet” in DEAR Inventory. To do so, fplow these steps. 1. Download and install ScriptRunner 4 from here; 2. Open DEAR Inventory; 3. Click on “Tops” tab under “App Setup”; 4. Click on “Script Runner”; 5. Click on “Open” next to the script “create_product_items.sqf”; 6. Enter your server URL in the field below the script file name (i.e., the URL where your DEAR Inventory server is located); 7. Click on “Execute” to run the script; 8. If there are no errors, click on "Close" button; 9. Navigate to the “Products” tab under “Product Information Management” at the top of the screen and click on "Add Product"; 10. Select a product category and enter the Primary Key value you copied earlier from the AWS conspe into the "Item ID" field in the "Item Information" section; 11. Select an icon image for this item from the list of icons or upload your own image then click "Save Item". See screenshot below. 12. Repeat steps 10 and 11 until all products are added; 13. Click on "Save Changes". See screenshot below. 14. Test your integration by going to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and entering your AWS credentials in order to view your products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface. 15. You may either click on "View" button or select "Preview" from the drop down menu next to that button in order to view your products in DEAR Inventory's web interface. 16. If you want to delete all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, click on "Delete" button instead of "View". 17. If you want to check whether your backend was able to save all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refresh the page (the page should not show any previously stored data anymore. 18. If you want to delete all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refresh the page (the page should not show any previously stored data anymore. 19. If you want to update all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refresh the page (the page should not show any previously stored data anymore. Then go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables again and refresh the page one more time (your previously stored data should pop up. 20. You may now delete any product from your Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface by clicking on "Delete" button instead of "View". 21. You may also add new products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface by going back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refreshing the page once again. 22. If you want to access all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refresh the page once again (the page should not show any previously stored data anymore. 23. If you want to delete all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refresh the page once again (the page should not show any previously stored data anymore. 24. If you want to update all products from Amazon DynamoDB through DEAR Inventory's web interface, go back to https://amazonaws.com/conspe/home?#dynamodb/dbCluster/tables and refresh the page once again (the page should not show any previously stored data anymore.
