Integration of Daylite and Facebook Page

In today’s technpogy-driven world, social media has become a necessity for marketing and promotion. From Facebook to Twitter to LinkedIn, businesses have taken full advantage of social media platforms in order to promote their products and services. But do you know what social media platform is the most important? According to a recent study conducted by Millward Brown, Facebook is the most effective social media platform for brand engagement. This surprising fact brings a new question. What if a business uses a mobile app for its marketing strategy? How can a mobile app interact with a social media platform? In this paper, I will discuss how Daylite, an online project management application, integrates with Facebook Page.

Daylite is an online project management application that allows users to view tasks, assign tasks, set due dates, update task status, communicate with team members, and more. There are two different versions of Daylite. Daylite Business Edition (BE. and Daylite Enterprise Edition (EE. Daylite BE is designed for individuals while Daylite EE is designed for corporate users. Both versions allow users to create projects, add tasks, assign tasks to team members, and set due dates. However, only Daylite BE allows users to update task status and communicate with team members. Additionally, Daylite EE can be customized according to customer requirements while Daylite BE cannot.

The difference between the two versions becomes more apparent regarding the integration of Daylite with Facebook Page. With Daylite BE, users can easily update their status on Facebook Page via the Daylite website interface. A notification window pops up when the user accesses Daylite’s website, allowing the user to update his or her status on Facebook Page. For example, let’s say that John is working on Project X and he had just finished Task 1. When John clicks “Update Status” on his Daylite account, a notification window will pop up on his screen. The notification window will feature “Update Your Status” at the top right corner of the screen. John can then type in his status on Facebook Page. After typing in the status, he simply clicks “Update Status” and his status will be posted on Facebook Page.

However, with Daylite EE, the integration is not as simple as it is with Daylite BE. First of all, in order for users to access their Daylite EE accounts, they must log onto the corporate website using their office IP address. Once they are logged into the corporate website, they must then sign into their Daylite EE account by clicking “Sign In” on the upper right corner of the screen. Since the IP address of the company’s website is secured against external IP addresses, users must have access to the office network through an IP address issued by the company. So how does one post a status on Facebook Page? It can be done through two ways:

  • Team members can directly post on Facebook Page through their smartphones. If they have installed Daylite BE on their smartphones, they can easily update their status on Facebook Page by clicking “Update Status” on their smartphone app. They simply need to select “Facebook Page” from the list of accounts and then type in their status on another screen.
  • Team members can post on Facebook Page through their computers at work. When they are logged into their Daylite EE account through their office IP address and they want to update their status on Facebook Page via their computer, they simply need to click “Update Status” and enter their status onto another screen.
  • Since both versions of Daylite allow users to update their status on Facebook Page via their smartphones and computers, why isn’t it more convenient to integrate them together? It would save time if team members could simply update their status on Facebook Page via the Daylite website instead of having to download another app on their phones or open up another web browser tab in order to post it on Facebook Page.

According to a recent study conducted by Millward Brown and reported by Forbes magazine, “Facebook has more than 60 times better engagement than Twitter and almost twice as much as Pinterest and Instagram combined” (Forbes. Although Twitter and Pinterest may seem like more powerful platforms for brands, Facebook is still more effective in terms of brand engagement. In order for businesses to effectively market themselves in an age where social media is king, they must use a social media platform such as Facebook Page in order to engage with customers at a personal level. However, since businesses use a lot of resources in order to promote themselves via social media outlets such as Facebook Page, what if there was a way in which businesses could utilize a dedicated mobile app for their marketing strategy? By integrating a mobile app with a dedicated social media platform such as Facebook Page, businesses can increase brand engagement because both platforms will work in conjunction with each other seamlessly. By integrating a mobile app with Facebook Page, businesses can take advantage of customers who do not have access to a computer during certain hours of the day but have access to their smartphones at all times. Whether they check their phone first thing in the morning or last thing at night, customers always have quick access to the information that they need from companies that have connected with them through social media platforms such as Facebook Page.
