Integration of Customerly and OneSignal

OneSignal is a push notification service, which sends push notifications to users. It is used by the companies to send notifications of their latest updates to their customers. Integration of these two tops will help the companies to track even the non-registered users.

Customerly and OneSignal can be integrated in different ways, they can be integrated by integrating OneSignal with Customerly or by integrating Customerly with OneSignal. Let’s see how we can integrate them.

By Integrating OneSignal With Customerly:

OneSignal has a feature called ‘Track Unregistered Users’, which is used to track non-registered users. Customerly also has a feature called ‘WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION’, which is used to track registered users who have not yet registered on the website. Integration of OneSignal with Customerly will help us to track the unregistered users who are on the website and have not yet registered. We can send them a push notification after they have been on the website for some time.

This integration can be done in two ways, they are – A. By setting up WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION as trigger for Track Unregistered Users and B. By setting up Track Unregistered Users as trigger for WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION. Let’s see how these two integrations work.

  • By Setting up WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION as trigger for Track Unregistered Users:

Step 1. Login to your OneSignal account and go to ‘Tracking Settings’. From here, you can select ‘Track Unregistered Users’ from the ‘Triggers’ section.

Step 2. In this step, you need to select the option ‘WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION’ and then click on ‘Create Trigger’ button. Now you will see that there is check box next to ‘Track Unregistered Users’ option, which says ‘Trigger only Registered Users’, make sure that this box is unchecked. This ensures that OneSignal will wait until any user is on the website before it will start sending them push notifications.

Step 3. You need to configure ‘Trigger Events’ and ‘User Properties’ according to your needs. After configuring all the settings, you can click on ‘Save Changes’ button. Now you have successfully created a trigger for Track Unregistered Users action in OneSignal.

  • By Setting up Track Unregistered Users as trigger for WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION:

Step 1. Go to Customers section in OneSignal and then click on ‘Track Unregistered Users’ from the ‘Triggers’ section. Then click on ‘Create Trigger’ button and select WAITING_FOR_REGISTRATION from the list of options. After that, you need to configure ‘Trigger Events’ and ‘User Properties’ according to your needs and then click on ‘Save Changes’ button. Now you have successfully created a trigger for Track Unregistered Users action in OneSignal.
