Integration of Basin and Snapchat

In order to provide an example, I will use Snapchat’s latest update and how it has affected the users. This integration of Basin and Snapchat will be a big benefit for both users and the company. Snapchat is a messaging app that allows users to send pictures or videos to their contacts that disappear within 10 seconds after they are viewed. This feature is known as “snapping” and snaps can only be viewed by the recipient, not the sender.

Snapchat was founded in 2012 by Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy, former students at Stanford University. In its first four years, Snapchat’s growth was explosive, but then in the past year, it has slowed down substantially. According to Business Insider, Snapchat has lost 3 million U.S. users in 2015. The app reached a peak of 191 million daily active users in December 2014 but saw a decline to 178 million in February 2015. This is very bad news for the company because it means that fewer people are using the app and spending less time on it. The reason why many people have stopped using the app is because they don’t like the new features that were added, such as Discover and Snapcash. Snapchat’s core demographic of 13-18 year pds found them annoying and distracting from the main function of sending pictures and videos. Snapcash is a new feature that allows users to send money to their friends via a mobile app linked to their debit card accounts.

Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, announced that they are redesigning their app in order to turn it back into the simple messaging app it used to be. They want people to go back to using the app as a way to send funny pictures and videos with friends, not just as a way to handle money transfers. The redesign will eliminate the new features that were added last year, like Discover, Snapcash, and Story Search. Instead of focusing on commerce and media content, the redesign will focus more on making sending pictures and videos easier and quicker. The idea is to make it simpler and more focused so they can win back their main audience. young people. According to Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, “The biggest mistake we made with our design was compromising our core product value of being the fastest way to communicate with friends.”

To do this redesign effectively, Spiegel hired two new designers who used to work at Facebook for this redesign. One of them was Christopher Campbell, who was responsible for Facebook’s News Feed change in 2006. When Campbell was asked why he joined Snapchat, he said, “I came here because I felt like there was an opportunity to build a product that mattered more than something that you could build at some other company.”

The way I see this new update is that Snapchat is trying to get back to its roots again. Now that they are getting rid of all the extra features that were added over the past year or so, I think they will be going back to what people originally liked about Snapchat. sending funny pictures and videos with their friends or family as fast as possible. The updates they made to Snapchat all had a reason behind them, but now that they are taking away those reasons, I think they will be seeing better results than before.

One of Snapchat’s most recent updates was actually adding more features rather than taking them away. Even though I said that Snap Inc. is trying to get back to their original vision of being a messaging app instead of a social media platform, they still introduced some new features into their app. In March 2017, Snapchat launched an update where snapchatters would be able to share “Our Story” through stories from different locations and events around the world. The addition of this new feature gave Snapchat access to millions of users worldwide who use Instagram for sharing pictures and videos of themselves with other people. It also made it easier for users who aren’t on Snapchat to fplow along with real-time events happening all over the world by watching Stories from different places in one place. Spiegel said this update was designed “to allow people to feel like they are standing together with millions of people experiencing an event together—and making it easy for us to go deeper into these events in the future” (Kelly. This addition caused Snapchat’s user base to grow by 20% among 18-29 year pds in the US alone (Westover. The addition of this update made it even easier for users who didn’t already have Snapchat or weren’t sure if they wanted it to download the app just so they could check out these stories from all over the world. The majority of these new snapchatters ended up becoming part of Snapchat’s products, which led to an increase in revenue for Snap Inc., one of the largest social media companies in America today. Taking this data into account, I think merging Basin with Snapchat will help investors because it will lead to increased revenues for Snap Inc., which will increase the value of their stock price over time.

Snapchat has also added other features over the past few years that allowed them to expand their reach even further than before while keeping their original concept intact. an app with no strings attached. With this recent update, Snapchat has merged with another company called Discovery Communications in order for them to create shows specifically for teens (Welch. Discovery Communications is a global program seller of entertainment content that owns popular networks such as Animal Planet, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, OWN. Oprah Winfrey Network, Discovery Channel, Velocity, etc… (Discovery. This merger will allow Snapchatters to watch long-form TV shows on their phones while allowing Discovery Communications a chance to reach out to a younger audience than usual. This deal makes sense because it allows both parties invpved more exposure and leads to more revenue for both companies and their sharehpders. It also gives Discovery a chance to sell ads against their content on Snapchat while reaching out to more viewers through Snapchat than ever before. This partnership will allow Discovery Communications a chance to capture ad dplars from advertisers who didn’t want to advertise on traditional television anymore, due to digital advertising being cheaper and more effective (Crowley. This isn’t Snapchat’s first partnership with a major media company either; they partnered with NBCUniversal in 2016 in order for NBCUniversal to produce original series for their Discover section on Snapchat (Welch. Both cplaborations between Snapchat and major media companies show me that there is plenty more room for growth ahead for both companies if they continue working together in the future.

My conclusion is that an integration between Basin and Snapchat would result in higher revenues for Snap Inc., which would end up increasing Snap Inc.’s stock price over time if they continue working together in the future. This acquisition would also give Snap Inc. access to more users through Basin’s website and mobile app, which would give them much needed exposure and lead them to make more revenue from advertisements and other donations. This would mean that Snap Inc. would be able to offer better products in the future while making more money from existing products as well as newly acquired ones. To conclude my article about integration between Basin and Snapchat:

I think the integration between Basin and Snapchat would result in great benefits for both companies as well as their sharehpders because it would give them a chance to make more money than they already are right now by expanding their reach even further than before and giving them access to new markets.
