Before I start I would like to illustrate my argument about these two applications. Basecamp 3 is a web based project management software, which allows users to communicate and organize projects in one platform. Vend is an online software that allows users to create their own e-commerce store as well as set up an online payment system.Basecamp 3 was launched in October of 2015. It is a web based software application, which allows users to have different projects and tasks organized in one place. For example, if you are working on a project with many different steps, each step can be divided into a separate project within the Basecamp 3 application. Every user has access to the complete history of the project, including comments, tasks, etc. The files that are uploaded to this platform are stored in the cloud, so they can be accessed from any device.However, the Basecamp 3 application is not limited to work only with other people; you can also add your own content in it! This means that it can be used as a personal project management tool or even as a diary. There are many templates available for download on the official website, or you can create your own design. The main advantage of Basecamp 3 is that all the information and conversations are organized in one place, so there is no need to use multiple applications or to send emails all the time. Everything is stored in one "online cabinet", where you can access it anytime.However, Basecamp 3 is not an application that is focused solely on project management. The main goal of the developers was to create a more efficient way of communication between people, no matter if they are working together on the same project or not. That's why there are plenty of social features included in the app. For example, there is a "Campfire" function, which allows you to share pictures and videos with other users. You can even broadcast messages and add them to the "News Feed" for everyone to see!Another useful feature of Basecamp 3 is the possibility to create checklists and assign different tasks to other users. Furthermore, it has integrations with many third-party apps such as Slack or Google Drive, so it is easy to share information between each of these tools.  The main advantage of Basecamp 3 is that all the information and conversations are organized in one place, so there is no need to use multiple applications or to send emails all the time. It has all the functionalities included in the desktop app, but it offers a simpler interface that is optimized for phones. However, some of the features are not available for mobile users (such as screen sharing.Vend is a powerful e-commerce platform, which allows users to create their own online store or marketplace (in case you want to sell items from other sellers too. It has been launched in 2014 and it has over 100 000 active stores, which makes it one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in the world! Vend provides users with a visually pleasing website with plenty of customization options. You can change almost every detail of your storefront - from colors and fonts to layout and size of product images! The platform offers free templates for every taste and style. It has a powerful back end, where you can configure your store according to your needs.You can manage products either from your website or from Vend's mobile app . Product listings are customizable and you have total control over prices, inventory levels, shipping costs etc. Vend allows you to integrate additional services such as PayPal or MailChimp into your account so you can avoid paying extra fees for those functionalities.The main benefit of Vend is that you do not have to worry about stock levels and shipping rates because they take care of all that for you! In addition, there are integrations with many third party apps such as Shipstation , Amazon FBA , Google Analytics , Google Search Console , Stripe , Shopify , etc. This allows you to easily connect your store with other services you might already be using!In conclusion, both applications have their upsides and downsides. Basecamp 3 seems more suitable for personal use while Vend has more features suitable for online stores. That's why I am going to compare them based on three categories. Which ones help you create an attractive website?In order to make this comparison more objective I created two tables, which show what features are included in each application.  IntegrationPricingDesignIn addition to the visual appearance of these two platforms I am also going to analyze each of them based on seven criteria. Ease of use - How easy is it to understand how each application works? Is there any tutorial available? Availability - Are there any limitations regarding the countries (and states. where certain services operate? Utility - Does either tool provide benefits that go beyond its primary purpose? Support - Is there someone who can answer your questions? Is there support available through social media platforms? Cost - How much do they cost? Are there any discounts available? Security - Is your data safe? Do you have control over who has access to your account?Basecamp 3 has been around since 2004, so it is easy to find tutorials and answers online about how particular features work!  It also has a blog section where their team frequently shares their opinion about new technologies and updates regarding Basecamp 3!Furthermore, the Basecamp 3 website provides links where you can quickly find answers about every question regarding their service!Basecamp 3 allows you to connect with other users via email or Campfire .  The latter option is more interactive than emails because you can share pictures or videos with others and see the comments that others have made on them (something I really appreciate!.You can also share files (for example. PDFs. through this tool!  This comes in especially handy if there are multiple people working on the same project!Basecamp 3 uses Stripe as its payment processor.  Stripe charges an additional fee for every sale made through your store (2.9% + 30c. However, if you process less than $2000 per month then there are no fees at all! So this service could be free for those small businesses!The main downside of Basecamp 3 is that it doesn't have any integrations with outside applications such as Mailchimp or Shopify ! Thus if you would like link those programs into your account then you would need to choose another platform!Vend offers integration with several third-party apps including. Shipstation , Amazon FBA , Google Analytics , Google Search Console , Shopify , Zencart , etc.  This means that you will not have to pay extra fees just to integrate your e-commerce store with another tool!The main disadvantage is that all orders have an additional fee between 2% and 2.9%. If you do not process more than $2000/month then there are no fees at all!  However, if your business grows larger then this tool will become more expensive than some other e-commerce platforms who charge fixed prices per transaction instead of percentages!I was really impressed by the amount of information provided by Vend's support team! They frequently post helpful articles on their website so users will know exactly what changes are being introduced in upcoming versions! In addition, they respond very quickly when customers ask them questions via email or Twitter !Vend charges 5% + 20c per transaction . This is a very competitive price compared with other e-commerce platforms out there!  However, if you process less than $2000/month then there are no fees at all! This means that this service could be free for small businesses!The main downside is that Vend doesn't have any integrations with outside applications such as Mailchimp or Shopify so if you would like link those programs into your account then you would need to choose another platform!In conclusion I think that both applications have their upsides and downsides.
