The company was started by Jason Fried, David Heinemeier Hansson and their partner in 1999. Basecamp 3 is the successor of Basecamp 2 and has a lot of new features. It contains to-do lists, calendars, time tracking, etc. Other competitors are Wrike, Asana, Trello etc.

Delay By Connect is an application for iOS that allows users to create and manage tasks on their phone by connecting with Basecamp 3. It’s created by Kostas Vaxevanis and had its first release in December 2014. Users can add tasks from Delay By Connect to Basecamp or view them in Delay By Connect but can not edit them. They can edit them only on Basecamp.
