In this paper, I will discuss how Etsy and BambooHR have partnered together to integrate data.I want to talk about the benefits that Etsy has been able to achieve from integrating data with BambooHR.Etsy is a company that provides a marketplace for creative individuals to sell their products. The company was founded in 2005 by Rob Kalin, Chris Maguire, and Haim Schoppik (“BambooHR,” n.d..Etsy allows sellers to set up their own stores on Etsy.com. Sellers can then create listings for the items that they want to sell. These listings can be for handcrafted or vintage goods. Since its inception, Etsy has expanded its services and adds new shops every day (“BambooHR,” n.d..Etsy has over 1 million active sellers and 26 million registered users as of December 31, 2017 (“Etsy Inc.,” n.d.. Over 40 million buyers spent $2 billion on Etsy in 2017. Etsy has had an annual growth rate of 23% since 2012 (“Etsy Inc.,” n.d..The partnership between BambooHR and Etsy started with an integration through BambooHR’s API (Application Program Interface. This integration allows employees of Etsy to more efficiently fill out time sheets through BambooHR (“Integration,” n.d..There are numerous benefits that the integration of BambooHR and Etsy provides:Employees can track their hours through BambooHR without having to work on multiple applications. Employees can easily log into one application to log all of their hours. They can also use this opportunity to see if they have any upcoming appointments or other time sensitive events. This helps employees better manage their time.Employees can now fill out their timesheets through mobile devices (McDonald, n.d.. Before this integration, employees had to fill out timesheets using a desktop computer. Having the ability to fill out timesheets on mobile devices allows employees greater flexibility in how they manage their schedules and check their time sheets throughout the day. There is no longer a need for employees to find a computer at home or at work in order to complete this task.Employees now have access to real-time updates when filling out timesheets. Because of this integration, employees can now see how much time they have left to spend on a project before they hit their daily limit. Before this integration, employees had to estimate how many hours they worked each project and did not have a way of knowing how many hours they had left until they hit their daily limit.
