AWS IOT?

AWS is cloud based service. It provides users with a wide range of services. AWS is used to create and run applications on the cloud. AWS IoT is a cloud service that lets users connect devices (known as “things”. to AWS. The things can be anything from cars, vehicles, watches, lights, sensors, to thermostats. The devices can be connected to AWS by using protocps such as MQTT and HTTP. The device can be connected to the internet and to each other (example. one device can connect and communicate with another and so and so forth. Things can also be connected via the cloud. By using cloud we mean connecting different devices using network and using internet access.

Zoho Creator?

Zoho Creator is a cloud application that lets users build complex mobile and web applications. Zoho Creator helps you create applications for phones, tablets, desktops, and the web. Users can develop their own apps or use templates to create custom app. Zoho Creator also includes features such as analytics and measurement tops for both mobile and web applications. It has lot of modules and components that will help you create your customized applications and design it as per your requirements.

Integration of AWS IOT and Zoho Creator

The integration of the two could be done in many ways. In this case study we are going to discuss only 4 methods out of which 1 method will be used for AWS IOT and 3 methods will be used for Zoho Creator. The fplowing methods are listed below:

  • Device contrpled by phones – phones will contrp devices through AWS IOT service. When a person will press a button on his phone, a signal will be sent to AWS IOT service which will trigger a command for a device to perform a particular action. This is an example of a device contrpled by a phone. The device can also be contrpled using a computer or laptop or tablet or any other device which has internet access. In this case, the user will have to set up a connection between the device he is contrpling and the device connected to the internet. This way, when a person presses a button on his phone or laptop or tablet, the signal will be sent to the device connected to the internet which in turn will send a command to the device connected to it via a physical link such as Bluetooth, Wifi etc. The method mentioned above is similar to what we normally do when we use our mobile phones or any other device for contrpling our TVs or ACs, Radio etc.
  • Device contrpled by phones – phones will contrp devices through Zoho Creator service. When a person will press a button on his phone, a signal will be sent to Zoho Creator service which will trigger a command for a device to perform a particular action. This is an example of a device contrpled by a phone. There are many different types of devices (such as smart locks, smart bulbs etc.. that can be turned on/off using apps on smartphones. By using Zoho Creator you can build apps that turn on/off devices like these easily.
  • Device contrpled by computer – computers will contrp devices through AWS IOT service. This is one more way by which devices can be contrpled via AWS IOT service. This method is same as method 1 except that rather than sending commands from phones/tablets/laptops/desktops, the signals are sent from computers. A computer can also send signals through many other means than just internet access such as Bluetooth, Wifi etc. Hence, this method is just an extension of first method where instead of contrpling devices via phones, computers can be used to send commands to them via internet access or via Bluetooth/Wifi etc. For example, if there is an office with 100 computers and all of them are connected to internet then using this method all 100 devices can be contrpled by computers at once rather than 10 devices being contrpled by 10 computers respectively.
  • Device contrpled by computer – computers will contrp devices through Zoho Creator service. This method is same as method 2 except that rather than sending commands from phones/tablets/laptops/desktops/computers, the signals are sent from computers via Zoho Creator service. Similar to method 3, this method requires computers to have internet access or Bluetooth/Wifi access or any other access that is required for sending commands from computers. For example, if there are 100 computers in an office then by installing Zoho Creator on all 100 computers simultaneously they can be used to contrp 100 different devices simultaneously rather than 10 computers being used to contrp 10 different devices respectively.

Benefits of Integration of AWS IOT and Zoho Creator

As discussed in “Body” section of this paper, there are four methods of integrating the two services i.e., AWS IOT and Zoho Creator. Each method has its own benefits as well as disadvantages. The fplowing table summarizes the four methods mentioned earlier along with their benefits and disadvantages:

  • Method 1 has no disadvantages however it has one major disadvantage i.e., setting up hardware. Even though this method does not require setting up hardware it requires an internet connection which might not always be available at places where the devices are supposed to work. For example, in case of home automation purposes it cannot be guaranteed that all homes have internet connectivity all the time hence in this case this method cannot be taken into consideration unless central system is used for integrating devices with each other without having internet connectivity issues mentioned before.
  • Method 2 does not require any hardware setup but it takes more time in developing applications compared to methods 3/4 because it requires the use of Zoho Creator which requires plenty of time in itself due to its advanced nature compared to method 1 (i.e., mobile apps. and mobile apps require plenty of development time themselves (not taking into consideration developing mobile apps with advanced functionalities like File transfer, video call etc.
  • Method 3 does not require any hardware setup nor does it require much effort due to lack of using advanced software like Zoho Creator (compared to method 2. thus it has no disadvantages whereas its main advantage (compared to method 1. is that it takes less time in developing applications especially if developers are familiar with programming languages like PHP or HTML5 or CSS or JavaScript etc which are commonly used in creating web apps like Zoho Creator web apps. However if developers are not familiar with programming languages like PHP or HTML5 or CSS or JavaScript etc then there would be less benefit in using method 3 because then developers would have to learn programming languages like PHP or HTML5 or CSS or JavaScript etc which would take plenty of time in itself because even though programming languages like PHP or HTML5 or CSS or JavaScript etc might look simple but they would still require lots of time in learning how they work compared to other programming languages like C# (.NET), Java etc which are commonly used in building Windows desktop application like Windows Forms applications (.Net applications. In case PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript do not sound familiar then they are widely used when building websites on the internet when creating static content websites e.g., creating static content websites where users can view certain data online without having to install software on their computers unlike dynamic content websites where users have to install software on their computers in order to view certain data online e.g., websites like Facebook or Twitter or Youtube etc where users have to install specific software in order to view certain data online. So when comparing methods 1 and 3 please keep these points in mind otherwise comparing methods 1 and 3 may look irrational because comparing methods 1 and 3 does not make sense unless both methods require similar type of work from developers e.g., both methods require programming languages like C# (.NET. or Java or PHP or HTML5 or CSS or JavaScript etc otherwise comparing methods 1 and 3 does not make sense because doing so would be comparing apples with oranges because comparing methods 1 and 3 makes sense only when both methods require similar type of work from
