Integration of AWS IOT and MongoDB Realm

AWS IOT?

Amazon Web Services (AWS. is a cloud computing service provided by Amazon.com. The service allows users to store and process data on the Amazon server. The idea behind the AWS IoT platform is to put devices in a central data hub, which makes it easier for developers to manage devices and their data from wherever they are. By creating a network of IoT devices, all working together, it enables more powerful computing capabilities than any single device can provide by itself. The largest benefit of AWS IoT is its ease of use, both at the device level and for the developer.

For example, let’s say you have a temperature sensor in a greenhouse, and you want to notify you when the temperature reaches a certain point. With AWS IoT, you can install an application on the sensor that will send a message when the temperature hits a certain point. Then, you can configure an AWS Lambda function so that every time there is an update from the sensor, it will get run automatically. You don’t need to write any code or set up any hardware to get this set-up running; it’s pre-built into AWS IoT so that you don’t have to worry about it.

MongoDB Realm?

MongoDB is a database program that is used in most types of applications and many web platforms. It is designed as a distributed database with built-in support for clusters, replication, loads and complex queries. MongoDB is capable of storing data in JSON documents. It supports indexes and has MapReduce functionality that provides parallel processing capability that can scale linearly with the size of your deployment. MongoDB also has authentication and authorization capabilities, which allow you to secure your data from unauthorized access.

Realm is a mobile database management system that was designed to run on iOS, Android and OS X platforms. Its aim is to make it easy for developers to store data in local databases so that they can work with it offline and sync it back to the cloud when necessary. By using Realm, you don’t have to rely on external storage systems like SQLite or Core Data. You can use it to manage your database directly without needing to worry about file management or serialization issues.

In order to use the Realm database in your apps, you need to download the SDK and include the Realm library in your projects. You then create a Realm instance with your desired configuration options. This includes where you want your database saved locally and whether you want it synchronized with the cloud automatically. Once you have your instance ready, you can start saving records into it. Each record is accessed through an object, and each object has a unique ID generated for it by Realm when it was created.

Also, because there are no servers invpved in managing IoT devices there is no issue with scalability either as there is no load balancing needed here unlike with traditional web applications.
  • Low cost – Because of the architecture described above which invpves getting rid off servers and centralized architectures, costs are significantly reduced which makes IoT an attractive option for small startups who do not have huge budgets at their disposal but still want to use these sensors due to their enormous potential for generating business opportunities. This cost reduction also will help make IoT applications more accessible to people who are outside the tech world thereby giving them new opportunities as well as making their lives easier and fun filled!
