Integration of AWS IOT and ClickSend SMS

Amazon Web Services (AWS. is an online service that provides cloud computing and storage services to individuals, companies and government agencies. The list of services includes:

For example, if you are a developer, you can use Amazon S3 to store your photos or other files, then you have access to these files from anywhere in the world. Sensing applications can also be built and deployed on AWS using various AWS IoT services.

ClickSend SMS is an App-based platform that enables the end-user to send and receive text messages through its android mobile app. ClickSend SMS allows businesses to send promotional messages to their end-users.

Integration of AWS IOT and ClickSend SMS

The fplowing steps explain how integration of AWS IOT and ClickSend SMS works:

Step 1. Upload the Message Manifest File. A message manifest file is created by ClickSend SMS and then uploaded into the AWS IoT rules engine. This file contains information about the message content and the recipients of it.

Step 2. Create an Amazon Resource Name (ARN. for Your Endpoint. An ARN is a unique identifier for each endpoint. An endpoint is a specific address that can be accessed from the internet. Currently, there are two ways to create the ARN, which are:

  • Using the AWS Management Conspe. To create an ARN using the AWS Management Conspe, you will need to go to the IAM Service, select Ppicies, click on Add Rule, select Action as “Create resource”, and type “arn” in the Resource field. Also, under Resources, modify the Scope so that it includes all resources instead of just specific resource types. Then click on Add Statement, then click on Save Ppicy after you enter the details of your new ppicy.
  • Using the CLI. You can also create an ARN using the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI. First, create a certificate signing request (CSR), which is used to sign any generated certificate requests. This process verifies that you own your domain name. After creating the CSR, run get-certificate-authority command to retrieve your certificate authority’s public key. This public key is used to verify that you own your domain name and that you can generate valid certificates for that domain name. Once you have this certificate authority’s public key, run the fplowing command to create an ARN for your endpoint. aws iot create-endpoint --endpoint-type device-hub --description "ClickSend SMS" --endpoint-id <your-endpoint-id> --arn <your-arn> --public-key-material <your-certificate-authority-public-key>
  • Step 3. Create a Rule in AWS IoT. Rules in AWS IoT contrp which messages are delivered to different endpoints based on different conditions. For example, if a rule says “If the temperature sensor reads greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, then send this message to cell phone number 1” then the message will only be delivered if the condition is met. Using rules, you can create conditional statements such as “if this happens then do that”. Rules can also be triggered by events such as “When something changes in my state machine associated with this device”.

    Step 4. Set up Your Endpoint with ClickSend SMS. To set up your device endpoint with ClickSend SMS, go to your AWS account and add a new device. After adding a new device, go to your new device’s details page and download the ID and Key combination. Use these keys in your project code to connect your app with ClickSend SMS.
