AWeber was founded in 2001 in Utah by entrepreneurs David Darmanin and Rob Walling. The company started out by offering an email marketing service to small businesses. In 2007, the company introduced its hosted web interface called “AWeber CRM”, which helps customers manage their email marketing campaigns. In 2010, AWeber expanded its services to offer services such as landing pages, sales pages, webinar tops and mobile apps for its customers. Zendesk is another popular cloud-based customer support software spution that allows companies to better serve their customers through online channels like chat, call and email. Zendesk was founded in Copenhagen in 2007 by Mikkel Svane and Morten Primdahl. It later relocated to San Francisco and raised $11 million in Series B funding led by Sequoia Capital in 2009.

In 2011, Zendesk opened its first office outside of Denmark in San Francisco. Its biggest challenge during this time was to scale its operations to meet the increasing demands of its growing customer base. In 2012, Zendesk opened its second office in Sydney for the same purpose. In early 2013, it acquired cloud-based customer management software maker NetSuiteCRM. Later that year it secured $30 million in a Series E funding round led by T. Rowe Price Associates Inc. This round included $10 million in commitments from T.
