Integration of Amazon SQS and Todoist

For this assignment, I would like to write about two different systems that are integrated together. One is Amazon SQS (Simple Queue Service. which is a message-queue based distributed system for applications written in several programming languages. The other is Todoist which is a task management application. The goal of this article is to highlight and examine the potential benefits of integrating or synching the data between Amazon SQS and Todoist.

The first step in this integration process is for the user to register their account on both Amazon SQS and Todoist. After doing that, the user will have to sign in with their registered username and password on the Todoist App. Then, the user will have to add some tasks into Todoist. For example, one task could be “Buy new shoes” and another task could be “Buy groceries”. Next, the user can click a button and then after waiting for a few seconds or minutes, the user will see those tasks listed on the list of tasks in Amazon SQS. The reason why it takes a few seconds or minutes is because if there is no internet connection or if Amazon SQS doesn’t have any space, the data won’t be able to sync immediately. Now that the user has figured out how to use Amazon SQS, they can create an account on Todoist and then they can start adding tasks into the Todoist App. After completing a task on Todoist, if the user wants to move that task from Todoist to Amazon SQS they can click on a button and after waiting for a few seconds or minutes, they will see that new task on their list of tasks in Amazon SQS.
