Amazon SQS is integrated with AWS Lambda function so that it can receive a message from an S3 event notification when a file is uploaded to an S3 bucket and then pass this to another service for further processing.

What is AWS SQS?AWS SQS is a hosted queue service that enables applications to connect and disconnected devices to communicate with each other in a reliable manner, without losing any messages.A queue is created and put into the 'Available' state by default. When a new message is added to the queue, it stays in this state until the message is consumed by a consumer (a software application running in the cloud or on-premises. or it times out. The length of time the message stays in this state varies based on the configuration of the queue.A queue can have one consumer or multiple consumers; if there are multiple consumers, the next consumer can pick up a message from the queue at any time. A message is removed from the queue when it is consumed by a consumer—the message cannot be retrieved once it has been removed.AWS SQS also supports FIFO (first in, first out. queues. If you want to create a FIFO queue, then set the maximum number of messages to 1 in the CreateQueue request. This creates a single-producer, single-consumer queue and ensures that messages will always be processed in order of arrival.
