Amazon SQS enables you to decouple the components of a cloud-based application by giving each component its own endpoint for sending and receiving messages. Basin provides file system interface to the data stored on NVDIMM. It allows the clients to share the cache among multiple applications and servers.

Amazon SQS is used to send and receive messages from the application server. If an application server fails due to any reason then all the messages will be queued in Amazon SQS. At the same time, whenever the application server will be available again, it will start reading messages from Amazon SQS queues.

The application server can create a client connection with Basin Server and after that, it can read and write data into the Basin storage using Basin file system interface. The processes of reading and writing data into the Basin storage are similar to the processes of writing to and reading from a regular disk drive. For example, if an application server wants to read data from the Basin storage then it can perform a read operation on a particular path of the Basin storage which points to the location of the data. If an application server wants to write data into the Basin storage then it can perform a write operation on a particular path of the Basin storage which points to the location of the data.
