Amazon SQS provides a highly scalable, fully managed queueing service. The service offers four different levels of message delivery guarantees. (Source. https://aws.amazon.com/sqs/)
AWeber is a company that provides email marketing services. (Source. http://www.aweber.com/)
In order for Amazon SQS to integrate with AWeber, an AWS account must first be created by the user. Once that has been done, a Lambda function can be created to send emails from Amazon SQS to AWeber. The sample code below was used to create the Lambda function:
[x] Create a new Lambda Function
[x] Choose Blank Function
[x] For Runtime, choose Node.js 4.3
[ ] Choose the Upload a ZIP file option and upload the aws-sqs-to-aweber.zip file from the GitHub repo. This file contains all of the code needed to create the Lambda function.
After creating the Lambda function described above, an integration between Amazon SQS and AWeber can be created. The next step would be to test the integration in order to see how quickly the messages are sent from Amazon SQS to AWeber. Another great way to test this integration is to have a user send multiple emails to the queue and then monitor the latency of those messages being sent to AWeber. After testing, it could be determined that there is a lot of latency when sending messages from Amazon SQS to AWeber and therefore we should look at other ways to improve upon this integration.
The process to integrate Amazon SQS and AWeber may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
