Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS. is a cloud-based messaging service that allows users to create topics, which are essentially message queues. One can then subscribe to these topics and receive messages via Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS. However, SNS can be integrated with other services such as Google Sheets, allowing users to send messages to a Google Sheet. In fact, one can even send messages directly from a Google Sheet!Google Sheets is a cloud-based spreadsheet tool that allows the user to create spreadsheets and store them in a Google Drive. The user can then share a copy of his/her spreadsheet with other people. This combination of SNS and Google Sheets enables the user to send messages to a Google Sheet from any device, which is very useful for collaboration. This concept is especially useful for classroom settings where students need to submit their grades or homework through a Google Form and then view their grades on a designated Google Spreadsheet.
Users can send messages directly from a Google Sheet using SNS. Once logged into Google Drive, go to Tools > Script editor. Then paste the code below into the script area and save it as a draft.
On the right hand side, you will see an option called “Current project’s triggers”. Click on “Current project’s triggers” and make sure that “Publish to Web” is set to the correct URL. If you would like, you can also change the title of your document and who has access to it.
After this, you are ready to publish your script! Just click on “Publish” at the top left corner of the screen.
Now create a new topic in SNS by going to https://console.aws.amazon.com/sns/v2/home?region=us-east-1#/topic/myTopicName . Once created, click on Subscribe Topic at the bottom of the screen. In the pop up window, select “Subscribe to topic” and then click on Edit notification settings in the drop down menu.
Next, add the JSON code below into the “Delivery format” box and click on “Save” at the bottom of the screen.Note. Replace myTopicName with the name of your topic. Also, replace myKey with your AWS key ID that can be found by following this link. https://console.aws.amazon.com/iam/home?#security_credential . Make sure that you have selected AWS Lambda ARN before clicking on Show ARN in order to get this information.
In order to send messages using SNS, you will need to use an IAM role with permissions to publish messages to your SNS topic (see link below for more information.
The integration of Amazon SNS and Google Sheets is very useful for collaboration purposes because it allows users to send messages directly from a Google Sheet, which can be very useful for classroom settings where students need to submit their grades or homework through a Google Form and then view their grades on a designated Google Spreadsheet. This integration between SNS and Google Sheets is also very beneficial because it saves time and effort because students do not have to waste time copying their responses and sending it through email or another form of messaging system (messages sent through SNS do not disappear after being viewed. It is also beneficial because teachers and students can easily create surveys that include text boxes and numbers which they can then collect results from using this method; instead of having students write their responses on paper which could potentially be lost or misplaced, teachers can now easily track student responses without worrying about losing any written material. In addition, this integration helps eliminate paper waste as well as wasted time when collecting data from students or colleagues since they no longer have to waste time copying their responses into a form or word document just to send it back nor do they have to worry about misplacing paper copies of their responses/surveys they filled out previously. It also eliminates the possibility of students writing down their answers incorrectly because they might have missed some words due to improper handwriting or writing too fast; by sending their responses directly through this method students know that their feedback will be sent back exactly as it was entered so that teachers or others viewing it will know if they are trying to cheat or not (however, if students try to cheat then teachers should just ask them to do it again.
