Integration of Amazon EC2 and SendFox

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), a service which provides scalable computing capacity in the cloud, can be used to host various cloud-aware applications. SendFox is an example of such an application.

There are two main components of the SendFox system. The client-side and the server-side. The client-side component consists of the SendFox desktop client, which connects to the SendFox server via a socket connection. The server-side component consists of the SendFox server, which is responsible for sending out alerts to clients. In order to ensure that the SendFox server would not become overloaded with requests, it was decided to use Amazon EC2 to host the SendFox server. The benefits of this integration include the fact that Amazon EC2 has a highly scalable infrastructure which can handle many simultaneous requests. Apart from this, by using Amazon EC2, SendFox is able to benefit from Amazon's reliability, scalability, and security features.
