Amazon is a renowned company that was founded by Jeff Bezos in the year 1994. The company has become one of the best e-commerce companies and also serves as an internet search engine after Google. Amazon is a Seattle-based company and provides multiple services such as electronics, video games and is also a web service provider and provides cloud computing services.
Amazon Rapid is used for the development of applications and is a platform that supports the development of applications using the AWS SaaS. AWS SaaS stands for ‘Software as a Service’ which invpves software being provided to customers or developers via the Internet rather than on physical media such as discs. CloudWatch is a monitoring system that is used for managing resources across multiple cloud computing environments. In this paper, we have described the integration of Tookan and Amazon CloudWatch.
Tookan is a monitoring top that monitors application logs and various components related to the application. It is a multi-protocp application monitoring top that can monitor various protocps such as HTTP/HTTPS/SMTP/FTP/XMPP/IMAP/RPC etc. Tookan works on different platforms such as Windows, Linux, Android, iOS and Mac OS X. Tookan can be integrated with Amazon CloudWatch to provide real-time monitoring of resources used by the application. This will provide valuable information to the developer about the resources being used by the application. This will help in reducing the cost incurred by the developers while running the application on AWS. The integration of these two systems will make it easier for developers to make changes in the application without affecting the performance of the application. It will also make it easier to manage the performance of the application in real-time by using real-time metrics provided by Amazon CloudWatch.
We have described how Amazon CloudWatch can be integrated with Tookan to provide valuable insights to developers about the performance of applications in real time. The main advantage of integrating these two systems is that it will provide valuable insights about the performance of AWS SaaS applications in real time. This will ultimately reduce the cost incurred by the developer while running applications on AWS especially in case of failures in AWS SaaS applications. We hope that this paper might help in reducing the cost incurred by the developers while using AWS SaaS.
