Amazon CloudWatch is a monitoring system for AWS cloud resources – such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2. instances, Amazon EBS volumes, and Amazon RDS DB instances. It allows users to monitor and manage the state of their AWS resources from the CloudWatch console or through the API.CloudWatch is designed to provide statistics of different AWS services in a standardized way. It aggregates all metrics from EC2 instances and EBS volumes into one central location.CloudWatch provides several features, such as alarms and metrics, that allow users to stay informed on the health and performance of their AWS resources.CloudWatch allows users to create alarms when certain conditions are met. When an alarm is triggered, it can send an Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS. notification or create a log file.A user can also define a metric to collect custom data from their EC2 instances. You can collect data on CPU utilization, disk I/O, network traffic, and other parameters.

    What is Getform?

Getform is an application used for tracking time spent on tasks which has been integrated with Amazon CloudWatch to track the time spent on a particular task. It is used by developers and project managers to track time spent by developers on their projects.Getform is easy to use and does not require any programming knowledge. Tasks can be assigned to a developer and tracked in real time. The time spent on each task is visible in the form of a pie chart and the total time spent on all tasks is available as a line graph. Getform also allows users to add comments to each task they are working on. By integrating with Amazon CloudWatch, Getform allows users to set up alerts for their developers when they spend more than a certain amount of time on a single task. This integration helps users ensure that their developers are focused on tasks that are important for them.

    Integration of Amazon CloudWatch and Getform

Getform is used by companies to keep track of the time their employees spend on different tasks so they can keep them focused on the tasks that are most important for them. With Getform, employees can enter their time online and receive alerts if they spend more than a certain amount of time on a single task.Getform was integrated with Amazon CloudWatch so it could set up alerts in case an employee spends too much time on a single task. An alert is set up as follows:

  • A user sets up an interval-based statistic using CloudWatch for a metric that is measured in minutes per day (for example, 30 minutes/day.
  • The user enters the maximum number of minutes allowed for a task (for example, 4 hours.
  • After setting up these values, you configure an alarm to send an Amazon SNS message after every interval (for example, every 10 minutes. The message contains the following details. Time spent on the current task Name of the current task Number of times the worker has exceeded the maximum allowed number of minutes per day in the current task Percentage of time spent in comparison with the allowed maximum time
  • When the value of the statistic collected by CloudWatch exceeds the maximum allowed value, Getform sends an email to the user who has exceeded the maximum amount of time he/she is allowed to spend on a single task. This alarm helps project managers know that one of their employees has exceeded the maximum time limit they have defined for themselves and take action accordingly.
