Amazon CloudWatch and Eventbrite are two cloud-based services that provide a variety of useful features. These services integrate together to offer greater benefits.
In this section, I will discuss how these services integrate together to offer greater benefits.
CloudWatch is a monitoring service that offers metrics and alerts for AWS resources. It can monitor several different elements of AWS, including Amazon EC2 instances, Amazon RDS instances, and Auto Scaling groups. CloudWatch can send notifications based on those metrics and can automatically increase or decrease the number of instances in Auto Scaling groups.CloudWatch integrates with many third-party services in order to provide greater functionality. One of the most common integrations is with Amazon SNS. SNS is a messaging service that can send notifications to various endpoints when certain conditions are met. For example, an administrator can configure SNS to send an email message when a particular metric exceeds a specified threshold, or when an error occurs on a specified resource. The administrator can specify which email addresses should receive the notifications. When CloudWatch is integrated with SNS, it sends notification messages to the SNS topic whenever the corresponding metric reaches a specified threshold value or whenever there is an error on its associated resource. These notification messages are sent as email messages and/or can be published to any SNS topic subscribers. Thus, CloudWatch provides greater functionality when it is integrated with SNS.
Eventbrite is a ticketing system that allows users to create tickets and sell them to other users. Eventbrite also provides statistics for events such as ticket sales, event attendance, and event organizers. The statistics can be accessed via Eventbrite's website or with its API.Eventbrite integrates with Google Analytics to make its statistics available through Google's interface. When users sign up for an account on Eventbrite, they are prompted to link their account with an Analytics account. After linking their accounts, they can view statistics regarding their events through Google Analytics's interface. This integration provides greater functionality for Eventbrite users as they can monitor their statistics using the same interface they use to monitor other Google Analytics statistics.
Amazon CloudWatch and Eventbrite integrate together to offer greater benefits to their users. The integration between CloudWatch and SNS allows CloudWatch to provide greater functionality during notifications and the integration between Eventbrite and Google Analytics allows users of both services to access statistics from both services using one interface.
