    What is Airtable?

Airtable is a cloud-based database management system that allows users to create and save their own databases in the cloud. Airtable is a simple yet powerful tool that allows users to create, organize, and share spreadsheets and other information online. The main difference between Airtable and other spreadsheet applications is that Airtable is much more than just a spreadsheet. The best way to understand Airtable is to think of it as a digital version of a physical corkboard, or a bulletin board. On a corkboard, you can pin up various pieces of paper containing various information such as phone numbers, addresses, and notes. In this example, “pieces of paper” are analogous to the rows in a spreadsheet. With Airtable, you can add various types of information to the rows such as text, images, checklists, and other objects. Each row is its own separate database.

    What is Firebase Cloud Storage?

Firebase is a realtime database service from Google. It has many great features including offline synchronization, mobile SDKs for Android and iOS (with C++ support coming soon), a live analytics dashboard, test lab for Android and iOS, and many others. Firebase uses the concept of “blob storage” for storing files on the server. Using Firebase Cloud Storage, you can easily upload files directly from your device to your Firebase storage buckets.

    Integration of Airtable and Firebase Cloud Storage

In this section, I will go over the integration between Firebase Cloud Storage and Airtable. This can be used to make an app that allows users to take pictures on their device and upload them directly into their Airtable database.Airtable’s integration with Firebase can be set up in only 5 minutes. First, you need to create a Firebase account if you do not already have one. Then, you have to create a new project in your Firebase console. When you first sign into your Firebase account from the console, you will be greeted with this screen:Click the “Create Project” button. You will then be prompted to give your project a name and choose your project’s location. After you have done that, click the “Create Project” button again. Next, you will be brought to this screen:Now that we have created our project in Firebase, we need to add a new service to our project. To do so, go to the menu on the left side of the screen and select “Add New Service”. You will then be prompted to choose between “Database” and “Hosting”. Since we want to use Cloud Storage, select “Database” and click the “Add Service” button at the bottom of the screen.You will then be prompted to choose a name for your Database service. Give it any name you want because we will not be using it for anything in this tutorial. Then click “Continue”. After clicking “Continue”, you will be brought to another screen where you have to configure your database service. Select “Cloud Storage” from the list of options on the left side of the screen and click the “Enable” button underneath it. Then check if your Firebase service URL is correct and click “Continue” again. Now that we have enabled our Firebase Cloud Storage service, we need to add it as a service to our Airtable project by clicking on “Project Settings” on the left side of your screen. After clicking on “Project Settings”, click on the + icon next to “Services” at the top of your screen. Then choose Google Cloud Storage from the list of services and click “Add Service” at the bottom of your screen. You will then be asked for your Firebase Project ID and your Firebase Project Secret Key. After entering them both into the fields provided, click “Connect to Firebase” at the bottom of your screen. Now that you have connected your Airtable project to your Firebase project, you are ready to start using Cloud Storage!
