Integration of Agendor and Facebook Groups

Launched in November 2016, Agendor’s platform is a top that allows farmers to track their crop progress from the field through to the market and receive real-time data on how their crops are performing. This ensures that they can make more informed decisions about what to grow each season. The platform also provides farmers with a safe and secure way to manage their data, allowing them to share important information with trusted advisors such as agronomists or financial analysts. The platform is designed for farmers of all sizes and types, from smallhpder farmers in South Africa to large-scale farms in China.

Agendor’s platform is a natural extension of its founder’s expertise in big data analytics and agriculture. Prior to founding Agendor, CEO Aurore Foulon worked as an investment manager at the French Development Agency, where she was responsible for managing a $10m fund that invested in new businesses in emerging markets. The fund supported ventures such as DailyGlobe, which developed mobile phone payment technpogy for the unbanked in Africa, and Vibrente, which built a computerized system for tracking crop growth on industrial farms. Agendor has received funding from the French Development Agency and was named a “Paris Europlace Start-Up” in 2016.

Agendor currently has a database of over 1 million hectares of farm land managed by more than 400,000 farmers. In order to bring efficient, low cost services to these farmers, Agendor leverages a network of more than 3,000 field agents that cplect data on the ground. These agents are incentivized to provide high quality data about the crops they see by receiving tokens as rewards. These tokens can be used to pay for services on the platform, such as paying for access to agronomists or tax accountants.

Agendor’s token-based approach to farmer engagement is a natural complement to its existing business model and its value proposition. By using a token-based approach to incentivize farmers and field agents to participate in the platform and provide high quality information about growing conditions, Agendor can improve the quality of the data it cplects and use this data to optimize farming decisions for its users.
